Manhattan district attorney subpoenas 8 years of Trump tax returns

New York County District Attorney Cyrus Vance's office has subpoenaed eight years of President Donald Trump's tax returns from Mazars USA, the longtime accounting firm to Trump and the Trump Organization, as part of its investigation into hush money payments, according to a person familiar with the matter.
The subpoena was first reported by The New York Times.
Marc Mukasey, a lawyer for the Trump Organization, said, "We are evaluating and will respond as appropriate."

They would remain sealed if they leaked it would mean laws were broken
Right up to the point where they would be introduced as evidence, and made fully public at that point.
One wouldn't even have to release them to provide the legion of people ready to follow the money with hints as to where to look.

Lied about the payments, lied on financial disclosure forms and in the final analysis, directed his lawyer to commit a felony.
Why was Trump even upset about Mueller?
I thought it exonerated him from every lie and led to transparency.
