    1 Josh Childress F-G 6-8 (possible)
3 Al Harrington F 6-9 (will ask for too much money)
2 Joe Johnson G 6-7 (already making too much money)
    15 Donta Smith G 6-7 (pass)
5 Josh Smith F 6-9 225 (part of their core)
24 Marvin Williams F 6-9 230 (have invested too much in him and to trade the number 2 pick away a year later is not going to happen)

I like the idea of Harrington. But I don't think he'll come; he left a winning team in Indiana to go to Atlanta so he could start. Pop's not gonna let him start here

I'd give anyone not named Duncan for Josh Smith. er blocked more shots per game (2.6!!!) than Tim did, and he's a wing.

Even if you discount Harrington and Donta Smith (FAs), that's still 4 guys for essentially 2 positions. Wonder if they'd bite on Scola for one of the Josh's.

The T-Wolves are gonna trade their core, Kevin Garnett, the Kings traded away Chris Webber, Lakers traded Shaq, and the Knicks pratically traded their entire roster, so I hope the Hawks follow them and trade us Josh Smith. We'll get a fantastic dunker who will bring us attention so then people won't say that we're boring.

Who cares if people think we're boring!? I'm content with watching TD's bankshots, Manu's drives, Tony's passes etc

    for 3 positions.
    Johnson play SG
    Smith/Williams are SF/PF.
    Childress is a SG/SF.

They will likely let go harrington and Donta Smith is a project that isn't ready to contribute.

    They aren't overcrowded.

Even you admit that they are combo forwards. I've checked their roster. They really don't have a true PF. All of the above go between 210 and 230, and that 230 is Joe Johnson.

There are also budgetary considerations. All of those guys are high picks. , the Joshs were drafted the same YEAR. At some point, they will all want to be paid as starters, if not stars. Trading one of them for Luis Scola and starting him off at $4M is going to look like a ing BARGAIN in 2 years.

Williams and Smith are something like 20 years old, they will still gain weight.
In the modern nba, Smith and Williams can play PF without a problem.

Atlanta won't trade Smith, Johnson and Williams.
The only guy they will maybe trade is Childress and I don't think Scola is enough to get him. It's too soon to think at budgetary considerations for Atlanta : Joshes have still 2 years on their rookies contract and Williams 3.

With what the Spurs have to offer, I can't see them getting any of Atlanta's young forwards.

    Thats what I am thinking.

The only possible one that they would be willing to part with is Childress, but even at that, we don't have anything that they would want for him.

Prying anything anything away from Atlanta with what we have to offer is pretty much impossible.

ATL is going to have to ship away/trade some of those players if they are going to go any where as a franchise. They need a franchise player. You can't win with great role players.

3 Al Harrington F 6-9 245 02/17/1980 Would be THE move of the summer, but will ask too muc, so it won't happen St. Patrick's HS (NJ) 7
    2 Joe Johnson G 6-7 230 06/29/1981 won't happen Arkansas 4
    15 Donta Smith G 6-7 215 11/27/1983 NO Southeastern Illinois 1
5 Josh Smith F 6-9 225 12/05/1985 would be very nice to have Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, VA) 1
24 Marvin Williams F 6-9 230 06/19/1986 again, nice to have but they won't part with him North Carolina R

hawks will have to decide who they want
they can not have all the forwards

    other teams may offer more

hawks also need a center and spurs have 2 they do not need

Childress isn't as good as Josh Smith, just more hyped because of the dunk contest. I'd part with Manu or Parker for Smith.

if you give up parker for him who is the point guard
manu's best postion is not full time point guard
and barry is to freaking old to be main point guard

Hawks already have a center and they hold the rights to David Andersen, who put up better numbers than Javtokas in Euroleague this season.

Trade Barry for Speedy/JR smith. Run a Speedy/Beno combo.

I love Speedy as a backup, but isn't he too injury-prone to be reliable as a starter?

speedy has no jumpshot but beno does but pop has no faith in beno

speedy can also not stay healthy
and tp is an allstar who has improved every season since being in the nba for a player who plays in the weak east and putting up good numbers and has postential

I would love smith here but not at the expensive of any one the big three
