I've heard that some NBA teams start the season with an incomplete roster...
Is this really that important to you?

Did you read my post? I agreed he would be back and you are acting like you won an argument. You try and argue even when we agree.
Kind of. In an annoying way it kind of gets to me. Not a huge deal, because I can see the forest for the trees and I really like SpursTalk and the people who post here. But for some reason I can not stand when people are always attacking other people. Maybe that makes me immature, but this just bothers me a little.
Let the record show that your suggestion is for the Spurs to use four players instead of five for 13 minutes a game.
Why do you not ask him the same question?
I know it's not important to him.
what the are you smokin'?
Then what was with your panic posts the other day about what happens if he goes to LA for less money than we can offer him? Damn, relax. FA started a week ago, and we've known since game 5 ended the Spurs would let Thomas figure out what he was worth on the open market and then talk numbers.
Nothing has changed. There's been one quote from the Spurs on Thomas saying they'd like to have him back but they are waiting to see how things play out.
There is one quote from Thomas saying he'd like to be back but he and his agent want to see what is out there.
Again, nothing has changed. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the four trophies sitting in the SBC.
Then why does he talk about me even when I have said nothing to him for a week?
Nothing. My suggestion was for someone to play those 13 minutes.
Because he knew it would set you off like a See 'n' Say.
"The overly sensitive poster says...."
I think he needs a diagram. Maybe a pie chart?
Thats what I have been trying to tell you this entire time about KT. You completely mis-interpreted my posts about KT.
I never thought he would not sign. I just made two points: 1) that he is a UFA which adds some risks and 2) that I believe that there are two different strategies to negotiations. I agree that the Spurs are letting the market set the price, but I just said that they could take the route of making him an offer to let him know they want him that is above an insult but below their willingness to pay.
You do not have to agree with that, but it is a valid way to negotiate. It does have its positives and negatives. But you ran off at me and started putting words in my mouth.
You misunderstood me, but whatever: Would Bonner be an adequate replacement for Horry? I DOUBT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But does that not in itself say something. Why would you intentionally try and set someone off?
Is Aggie the Joker? Some people just want to see the world burn and yada yada...
I think he'll be fine while Gist gets some experience.
Better than playing nobody like you suggested.
Because some people are comically predictable.
It may be a valid way to negotiate if you're the New York Knicks and you want to be 30 million over the luxury tax. For any team with any sense of fiscal responsibility, it's not.1) that he is a UFA which adds some risks and 2) that I believe that there are two different strategies to negotiations. I agree that the Spurs are letting the market set the price, but I just said that they could take the route of making him an offer to let him know they want him that is above an insult but below their willingness to pay.

As was covered before, there is ZERO reason to make an offer to Thomas at this point. The only possible outcomes in that situation are
1) they offer him too much and are on the hook for a bad contract at above fair market value.
2) they offer him too little, piss him off, and he walks.
Again, there is no reason for the Spurs front office to make him an offer and every reason for them to wait. Yes, he is unrestricted but by all indications he wants to be in SA and will give them every opportunity to match or beat any offer he receives.
Sit back, relax, and pop in the 2005 championship DVD or something.
2 rebounds per game.
1 pick per entire playoff season.
How are we ever going to cope?
Gist will get experience while Bonner eats up regular season minutes? Tell me more, Mr. Dumper!!!!!!!!
Gist will probably spend a little time in Austin.
Next.
Would Bonner have swiped Nash's crossover during the playoffs? Would he have hip-checked West?
