I think the reaction was so strong because Angel has portrayed herself as an overly nice, overly sweet person. Then, she levels a complaint about what this kid did and has the nerve even to question the parenting skills of the person who allowed the kid to do it. She came across as thinking she was "above" having to count these bills and blamed the kid and the parent for not realizing it was wrong of them to "inconvenience" her. If she had simply said that she hates having to count a bunch of small billls, without passing judgement on those who dared cause her to have to do it, it would have produced a different result. But she continued on and made it worse, going on about how unprofessional it was of this customer, etc, even AFTER people pointed out to her why the kid probably did it.
It is a simple fact of life-- if you set yourself up as some beacon of virtue, people will be happy to point out when you do not live up to your own hype.
