The only requirement to get minutes on Van Gundy's team is to chuck 3's at a low %.. if you can do that your guaranteed minutes.

Oh and that effect you speak of is due to PJax, not Kobe. Kobe isn't exactly known for making his teammates better. In the non PJax Kobe era, the role players legitimately played poorly but PJax is the best there has ever been at making role players play above their heads.
