When I said "Pop seems to think the best way to guard the Thunder is by going small", I didn't say that based on last night in a vacuum, but a trend I've noticed over the past two seasons and last night was just a continuation of that.
And it's not just the Thunder. Against any combo forward who can score inside and out, Pop seems to think the answer is going small. With the bigs the Spurs now have, he should no longer resort to doing that automatically. He should play to the Spurs strengths and not always focus on adapting to the opposition. It's not like the Spurs have good small ball options.
