I wasn't that impressed with Greer before his injury and he's always missing a ton of games.
Those 4 guys were big parts of the Super Bowl team, especially Greer and Vilma, but they had to go.
Word on the street is that Jimothy will get the Franchise Tag...can't imagine he's too happy with that--not just b/c of lack of extension, but TE's make less than WR's and he's the best of both for them.
He'll probably file a grievance to get the WR money. The tags are based on where you play on the field, not what the team calls you. So if he can prove he took more snaps split out and/or in the slot than he did at TE, he'll have a strong case to get the full $13.2 Million.
The Ravens faced this same issue with Suggs in 2008 and face it again with Pitta this season.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/02/18/report-graham-to-file-immediate-grievance-if-tagged-as-tight-end/According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Graham will file a grievance with the league if he’s not tagged as a wide receiver.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/02/15/saints-re-sign-graham-harris/Via Katherine Terrell of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the NFLPA website indicates that both kicker Shayne Grahamand tackle Bryce Harris are under contract for 2014.
Good. With the way he talks big but shrinks in the big games--he should be franchised. Eh, what's the difference between a WR and TE? 11.8 to 6.8? No wonder he wants to be considered a WR.
^ I can't imagine much value for Thomas or Moore at this point in their career.
I don't want to lose Sproles though. When he and Graham are both in the game together, our offense just seems to thrive.
Damn. If jimmy graham costs them sproles...
Sproles wasn't that great in the second half of the season. He's 31, not nearly as explosive as two years ago, terrible in the return game and cost around 5 million next season. He struggled in the second half of the season with his knee injury. I don't trust him as much as I use to.
Looks like Moore just said his goodbye

Bye bye Sproles.....

This kind of move shows why this organization has been one of the most consistent since 2006. This wasn't an easy decision but the team had to do what they felt was best. I doubt Sproles will come back cheaper and if he can stay healthy, he's still a weapon. Time will tell if he can come back to his 2011 form. I already miss him.
Not that he's replaceable, but that Brees contract is looking sorta burdensome
Rofl what a dumb n!gger. Does this idiot not see that they're cutting players to make room for his big ass contract?
Because if the larger than expected raise in the salary cap his contract doesn't have as much to do with it as you would think..they just didnt wanna pay what they were owed or at the level they were owed
