If the Spurs lose to the Lakers then the Spurs franchise should be investigated for game-fixing.
That would be a great story: Peter Holt bets tens of millions on the Lakers straight up (probably at something like +1200) and tells Pop to throw the game. Holt then takes the profit and becomes a mixture of Cuban, Prokhorov, and cocaine.

As conservative as Pop is when it comes to injuries and holding people out, that sounds like pretty good news to me.

Sounds like last seasons scenario. He should be playing at or near 100% by round 2

Spurs' Popovich expects Parker back before playoffs
    Apr 8 2014, 12:03 PMJosh Gold-Smith
San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker will miss the next two games with a facet joint injury in his back, but head coach Gregg Popovich says he won't miss the rest of the regular season.

Popovich told reporters at shootaround on Tuesday that there's no need to shut Parker down because "it's not that serious". He added that the plan is to get Parker into "a game or two" before the playoffs begin.

In terms of Parker missing the next two contests, Popovich says it's not simply a case of the head coach resting his star point guard.

“This isn’t me resting somebody,” Popovich said. “The docs don’t think he can go. We’re going to give him the time that he needs, according to what they say.”

Parker received an anti-inflammatory injection on Monday in San Antonio.

“He got a shot in there, and he’s got to let it calm down,” Popovich said. “For sure, this week, these next couple of games he’s not going to be able to go.”

The Spurs have gone 9-2 without the veteran guard in the lineup this season. Cory Joseph will start in Parker's absence.

    Sounds like good news.

I don't trust Pop or Tony. I need more opinions from the resident SpursTalk doctors before deciding whether this season is over or not.
