To an extent. People mature at different stages of their lives. Who's to say he won't?

I'm not saying he won't. I'm saying based on history with guys like him, it's highly unlikely. He had a good coach, GM willing to work with him/guide him and a stable lockerroom (on a winning team no less) and he still couldn't cut it.

Not only that, but the overall point was whether he matures or not is not the point. The fact it's unlikely and you even have to ask shows you shouldn't pay a premium to find out. That's dumb.

In a surprising twist, OKC has come on strong with Pau Gasol, and described as a "frontrunner" for the Spaniard.

Agree with most of this Except ...stable lockerroom. by all reports it fell apart with George, Hibbert, Turner and Lance culpable

Well, I think when you listen to either direct comments or more subtle ones, people seemed to have a probably with Lance. He got into fights with multiple teammates and with his first year with an expanded role the chemistry that seemed to be so great all of the sudden disappears?

Ok I buy Lance was probably part of the issue maybe most of it. But not every team is koombya like the Spurs. 90s bUll's had issues but their leaders overcame them. So did BadBoys, Shaqobe Lakers and even magic and Kareem. Pacers melted I think mostly from higher expectations ...so I question that lockerroom and if he was THAT bad why does Bird want him back?

Also Pacers chemistry was exaggerated. I doubt transition to Paul George from whatshisname was not smooth. East was ty and injured Vogel is also overrated tbh.

I don't think Bird does. Might be reading too much into it, but Bird's offer seems to be purposely "low" (although in reality it's really fair) as a means to drive him to go elsewhere. The fact it's a take it or leave it offer as well signals his true intentions.

Well w/ regards to Vogel, INDY really is a limited team both athletically and talent-wise. He somehow managed to take them to back to back ECF which is no small feat.

Don't buy that if he was THAT bad you let him walk. If bad but redeemable you make a fair offer you don't overpay. Bird is being smart.

I agree that I think Bird is being smart, but I think what is enabling him is he really doesn't care if Lance comes back. If he comes back at that price, he's also tradeable.

All better coaches for sure, but I have Vogel as probably the best coach in that next tier.

Agree, most coaches aren't a big deal and very easily replaceable. Hopefully a promising new crop keeps filtering through which is a trend with a high number of first time HC's getting chances.

I think buldenholzer and Casey show promise but East so ty hard to tell. Fish and Kerr need to prove they are more than smooth talkers. Kidd needs to prove his ego can be checked.

How is that possible when Killa said the offer is fair and you shouldn't overpay Lance and you clearly said Bird is low balling him
