Mavs really get screwed as they lost all options to sign bigs assuming they had Jordan. It's just crazy that he would backout this late in the game. That said, Mav franchise has needed to blow things up for a few years now. They keep turning over their roster every year to ensure they get into the playoffs, but how many 8th seed/first round losses can you take before you realize that you need to try something else.

Not gonna lie, I was really hoping DJ would go to Dallas. As much as people like to scoff at the idea of the Clippers being a threat, they won 56 games last year and were 2nd in SRS. They added Pierce who is a big improvement over Matt Barnes, and also got Lance Stephenson to come off the bench. I know he was terrible last year in Charlotte, but he's not THAT bad of a player. Wouldn't surprise me if he had a bit of a resurgence with a better team. Throw in the fact that Griffin and DJ could improve a bit...I'd much rather DJ just go to Dallas and eliminate the Clippers as a threat.
I mean it's not the end of the world or anything, but it just makes the top of the West even tougher and more crowded.
if mavs didn't get dj, they were planning on giving matthews that much anyways.
