’Why did Giuliani lie?’: Michael Cohen’s lawyer blasts Trump team for getting caught fibbing — again
He accused Trump’s lawyer, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, of
“inventing words in a transcript that didn’t ever get spoken,”
referencing
his claim that the president advised Cohen not to use cash to pay former Playboy model Karen McDougal off
when many who listen to the newly-leaked tape hear the opposite.
To pay cash would have made the transaction harder to trace, whereas cutting a check leaves a paper trail for legal purposes.
“Why did Giuliani lie about Michael Cohen,
saying that he’s the one who said ‘cash,’
just as he lied when he said Donald Trump didn’t say [it],”
Davis told Stephanopoulos.

Lol "your favorite president"
What an insecure old
can't believe Henry Cisneros hasn't come up. his political career ended because he didn't disclose his hush money to a mistress.
seems odd that disclosure requirements for civil servants are far stricter than they are for presidents, but there you are are.
The two cases are not comparable but if Dems did bring it up then they would have to talk about their defense of Cisneros and Bill Clinton pardoning him.
alan Dershowitz said Wednesday that Trump's personal lawyer Michael Cohen has "a serious problem" if the leaked tape of his private conversation with President Donald Trump was protected by attorney-client privilege.
"If, in fact, this material was originally leaked by Cohen when it was still privileged — if Cohen is the source of the leak, he has a serious problem," the Harvard Law School professor emeritus told "Fox and Friends."
"Remember, a judicial officer found it to be privileged," he explained. "It then was leaked — and only after it was leaked did [Rudy] Giuliani waive the privilege as to this in order to protect the privilege of any other possible conversations.
"This was a conversation between a lawyer and a client that should never have been heard," Dershowitz said.
Cohen's attorney, Lanny Davis, leaked to CNN a recording between Trump and Cohen regarding a $150,000 payment to former Playboy model Karen McDougal over an alleged affair.
Special Master Barbara Jones, who was appointed by Federal District Court Judge Kimba Wood in New York to review items seized by FBI agents from Cohen in raids last month, said Monday that 12 audio recordings had been released to prosecutors.
Dershowitz told Fox that nothing on the tape incriminated Trump nor proved that any laws had been broken.
"Not even a close question," he said. "There's no crime.
"Even if, and the tape is unclear, Trump raised the word 'cash,' it was then a discussion," Dershowitz added. "The lawyer said, 'no, no, no' — and President Trump said, 'no, we'll do it by check.'

WSJ: Trump Organization CFO Subpoenaed In Cohen Probe
Veteran senior Trump Organization official Allen Weisselberg has been
subpoenaed to testify before a federal grand jury
in the criminal probe of former Trump fixer Michael Cohen, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.
Prosecutors in the Southern District of New York are investigating Cohen for a host of financial matters,
including the hush money payments he made to women on Trump’s behalf.
Sources familiar with the investigation told the Journal that Weisselberg is considered a witness in that investigation.
Weisselberg has worked at the Trump Organization since the 1970s, working his way up to become executive vice president and chief financial officer.
He currently runs the business with Trump’s two adult sons.
Weisselberg also served as the treasurer for the troubled Donald J. Trump Foundation,
which was sued by the New York Attorney General
for engaging in “repeated and willful self-dealing transactions to benefit Mr. Trump’s personal and business interests.”
The longtime ally of the president cropped up in a newly-released audio recording of Cohen and Trump discussing how to buy the rights of a former Playboy model’s account of her alleged 2006 affair with Trump.
On the tape, which was made public by Cohen’s attorneys,
Cohen said he spoke to “Weisselberg about how to set the whole thing up.”
Cohen ultimately set up and dissolved an LLC without ever making any payments to AMI Inc., parent company of the National Inquirer, for Karen McDougal’s story.
But, as the Journal reported, Weisselberg did set up a $35,000 monthly retainer to Cohen through the Trump Organization
that was used to reimburse him for the $130,000 he gave to adult film star Stormy Daniels
to keep her from publicly discussing her alleged liason with Trump.
A source told the newspaper that Weisselberg did not know about the payment to Daniels![]()
when he set up the retainer arrangement with Cohen.

Weisselberg going down, too?![]()
