    Young looked worse than drew
-10, but I still would rather have him out there than Drew.

I loved the poise on defense in the 4th quarter when the shots weren't going in. Even though they were not scoring it took the Warriors almost the entire quarter to catch the Spurs on the scoreboard (9 point deficit). They made the Warriors earn their run hard. Also credit to GSW, they tighten things out defensively.
And talking about mental hurdles when closing games, the minute the Warriors drew level (or went in front by one, can' t remember precisely) the Spurs found their shots again. A superb win for this young group.
This . Their pesky defence kept them in the game and jacob as the spurs last line of D completes it.
Pop going with Thad as first big off bench has helped .

DWhite with another good outing. Came up clutch to close the game. The play they ran when 45sec left is a perfect example of how having a different initiator to DJ can lead to DJ going to work against a scrambling d that had no time to set. Tough but easy lay up to finish by Dejounte was a thing of beauty by Dwhites set up.

Curry had a horrible game, but those are exactly the times to take advantage, and the Spurs did, because they stayed tough. A good win.

Yeah, really happy they were able to win the game. I had to go to work as the games are on midmorning here, but even though they were playing great when I left, I wasn't expecting a sure fire win as I thought the Warriors would make a run and get it close. Glad they were able to tough it out and take the win.

Speaking of the Warriors, when is Thompson due back for them? They're going to be really tough to beat if Klay is able to regain his pre-injury form.

interesting thing to note - spurs are 5 game under .500 still but are at a 0.0 differential per game now which is better than 3 (current) playoff teams. Spurs are better than their record indicates tbh

The team is improving and working hard. I've enjoyed watching them get better. My expectation was around 30 wins this year. They may do better than 30 from the looks of it. They have not had a fully healthy team for very long this year.

This game's last few minutes showed a new maturity in this young team. They kept their poise, dug in on defense, and the offense came around. This win was all about MENTAl At ude in closing out. We still don't have THE closer in my opinion, but they didn't give up when GS took the lead. How great is that???? These Spurs may have some pretty good upside by the time Spring comes around.

Was anyone else nervous about having Johnson on the floor in the last few minutes. I worry about him trying to play hero ball when he really doesn't have the skills to make the long 3 and will drive into traffic and make a mistake.

Lonnie driving to the basket consistently in the 1st half was huge. I truly truly hope he realizes that needs to be his game. Not the 3 ball but that right. Drive after drive after drive.
But he needs to dunk and stop taking pussy layups... That says a lot about his personality... He doesn't go for the kill when he can... Many times he opts for the passive route... And that's y he constantly has games where he is passive both with his shot selection and the number of times he shoots

I’ve been looking for this stat?
If you have time can you post where you found this information?

we’ve had so many close games I figured out point differential for the season would be close

I couldn’t catch the game sadly. Was Curry just off or did Murray/White seem to bother him?

White waking up really helps. Now if only Lonnie could be consistent. This team is elite in quite a few stats, they not that bad

I thought despite his shot not going all night he had a really good game contributing in different ways. He is extraordinary and yes, his accuracy was off. Credit to the Spurs too, I thought they defended him very well and gave him almost nothing uncontested.

The major problem with the team early in the season was a lack of closing out games. They didn't know how to do it. The game gets harder, the court thicker, the hoop smaller, and in previous years it was either DDR, Gay, or Mills who were taking those shots. It looks like they're starting to figure out how to close. Defense will keep them in games, their newfound knowledge will help win more of them.

Unfortunately I don't think there's really anything to inject some Dawg into a player if they just aren't.
You try "toughness" and hope they respond and even go so far as to corner him and see what kind of animal comes out, but usually we are who we are.

And he seems to be who he is.

No matter what kind of cultivating/forceful coaching was given and/or any alternatives.

Probably .500 if Jakob doesnt go down for that stretch, but probably not higher than that either.

Yes. Murray bothered him and it seems Steph's legs werent there. Missed layups and 3s so the previous night's game took a toll

He started the game like 1/15 so...he was obviously off. Murray and White did a good job hounding him, but he also just missed some shots he normally makes...even if those are like 30 footers. Even with good defense, you don't ever expect him to shoot that poorly.

He eventually found a groove and almost willed the comeback. but it was too little too late.

Doug's absence just as important as Jakob. He spreads floor for white, Murray, walker to operate while simultaneously being one of our leading if not the leading scorer...but but Dat contract
