If anyone thinks this was a great game...in offense OR defense...you must be on the coaching staff. Because it wasn't.
It's not just 12% from 3, is that you took 41 of them
The entire team thinks they are the splash brothers.
More like the trash brothers![]()

Come on, Deep. Stop.
keldon 0/9 3pt, vassel 1/9 3pt. oooff
"You fans need to get over yourself" - Pop
Defensively as as second year, he is treading well. He has been asked to defend the best guards in their team 30 mins a night. Offensively, his cutting and sneaky explosive finishing is his strength. His inside to out passing is usually good.
He won't be a playoff bound player until he can hit jumpers.
It’s true. Spurs have had how many double digit leads? If their shooting was even league average they have 5 more wins easily. Get some more talented via draft and FA/Trade next 2 seasons and Spurs are a playoff team. Wemby is legit - that’s all that matters.
If the Spurs had a good coach, they are good enough individually to be a .500 team. They shoot like because they force too much, which is BAD coaching. There are no plays. It's each guy for himself. BAD COACHING. The play like they are playing street ball.
I said this on Twitter and I believe it: its beyond disappointing on so many levels. Frustrating too
They aren’t a terrible team that should be losing this much, but their flaws inflict max pain at the moment coupled with some really poor decision making & effort at time
Lots of room to grow. Even more work to do
OVERHYPED
A couple of good halves during a 17 game losing streak doesn't mean they're close. They have maybe 2.5 NBA rotation players on the roster and that's being generous. They are years, YEARS, away from even sniffing a playoff series win tbh. Such massive misses in the last several drafts/free agency periods...they're f'd![]()
“The Spurs became just the fourth team to attempt over 40 threes in a game and make less than 13% of them.Tough shooting night for San Antonio, especially Vassell, Keldon, and Victor, who went 2-of-24 from deep.”

Any good coach could take, arguably, the best center in the league and one of the best 3 point shooters in the league...and win a few games.
Any good coach would have STOPPED them from forcing so many threes.
Teach em defense. Practice passing, picking, etc. Design plays etc. A good coach would have this team at .500. You need defense and team play to win games. Even with lesser talent you can win. But, you need a coach to do that. And Pop ain't no coach. He's a poser who waits for marquis players to make him look good. Sound familiar? He's not the first.
I think we have a legit chance at the all-time losing streak record. We're only 11 games away!
Yeah but we shot 57% from 2, so.....
You know. It's not just Pop's fault. Rick Carlisle couldn't even coach these guys. They can't defend, box out or shoot threes. How do you watch Steph Curry and Damien Lillard for 10 years and then come into the league as a player under 6'10 and not be able to shoot threes? That's literally insane. They have eliminated perimeter defense to allow running up the score and yet, you didn't work on shooting OR ball handling? But you play basketball, how can you not do either of those things and yet be under 6'10? That's asinine. You are not a basketball player; you're a running back.
How come these guys can't box out? How come they have to walk the ball over to the next guy to make the pass instead of throwing it? Why can't they throw a crisp, reasonable-speed pass without jumping? Why do they pick up their dribble immediately without even thinking maybe they could turn the corner on a guy with help from a screen?
On a scale of 1-100, the roster's overall feel for the game of basketball appears to be about a 43, boosted by Vic's X-factor and Vassell's jumper. Everything else about the team is just bad, bad, bad.
They don't seem to do anything naturally and with the grace one would expect of exceptionally talented individuals.
It seems like they have to work really hard to process through even the most basic facets of the game???
It’s all related though. The missed shots cripple everything else. It’s a fatal flaw right now that makes everyone and everything appear worse than it really is. Especially as 99% of fans only track wins/losses to measure any sort of growth or success.
This is the fan equivalent of Pops "they missed some shots."
They have several fatal flaws. They look even worse than last year so it's not just about wins/losses. I don't see how anybody can look at this team and say, they're a couple of made shots away from being okay. They are terrible in almost every facet of the game.
You say terrible, but they have double digit leads in how many games? They get absolutely punished often in like 5-6 minute stretches that kill any shot at winning. They are not getting rag dolled all game long. They do plenty well all things considered.
10 games left in 2023
Can the spurs run the table?
They are doing terrible. They cannot play a solid full game.
They are NBA players so of course they will not get destroyed every game all game long as that doesn't happen to any team but 17 losses in a row indicates big problems with the talent level of the team.
I tell you this, the game tape isn’t going to be kind to Sochan.
He morphed into Ben Simmons in last game Philly mode.
Multiple times he could’ve shot but didn’t…
Could’ve drove but didn’t…
Found the open man…
I Hope he turns it around as one of his strongest traits last season was seemingly his BBall intellect.
