Wemby struggled on offense vs Domantas, but Domantas couldn't do vs Wemby, passed away most of the time and scored most of his points not vs Vic
Exactly. And Wemby making them pulls the shot blocker out to open lanes for our guys to attack the rim. It’s working with your personnel with Wemby still not as post dominant, idk if he’ll ever be but it’s adjusting the play around that
Wemby struggled on offense vs Domantas, but Domantas couldn't do vs Wemby, passed away most of the time and scored most of his points not vs Vic
The problem arises when wemby tries to do crossovers and behind the back sh*t 25ft out. Sabonis was quick enough to stay in front of him. When Wemby moves around or comes off screens, it is nearly impossible for any player to guard that. Him hitting 3s like these last two games is such a deflating thing to see if you’re on the opposing team.
Good win. Getting to a better mix offensively of involving Wemby but not breaking the flow of the offense. Good amount of threes, movement to get there. A few iso heavy moments to control the clock, but mostly looked good throughout.
Without Sochan, get beat up occasionally with PF's coming down as we've got a lot of 2 wing forward lineups (Keldon / Champagnie / Barnes at PF), and switches cause issues. Only really an issue with 2 bigs where they can both shoot (or, need to be guarded at the perimeter) and have the girth to score in the post.
Agree. His dribble is so high and soft he’s practically giving it away doing crossovers in traffic. He needs to continue get stronger to protect his dribble with his other arm
I'm surprised people say this. They move completely differently on the court. Maybe standing still, but once they move around it's clear who is who.
Especially on defense. Castles main stance is pretty unique.
Castle's entire movement looks unique. Like if you put just a silhouette of him in there, you'll know right away it's him.
Spurstalk shooting experts can swallow now and they better goddamn like it….
hahahahahahaha!
Very solid win. Let's see if they can start stacking these.
Good game. We lost these last year. Doesn't mean we're play-in quality quite yet, especially with Sochan out - but I like what I'm seeing. Especially Victor mixing it up, and Castle playing like a 5 year veteran during stretches. DV also looks like he actually might create a lot better spacing than anticipated. Even Collins nailed a 3 or maybe 2 (?). Keep rolling and try to build confidence during the rest of this homestand.
We would be 7-4 had we taken care of the Clippers and Jazz like we were supossed to.
Agree. Castle has that strong stance like Kawhi (I hate to make comps here without ruffling the feathers of some). But that LeBron’s dismay seeing Kawhi subbing back seems the same way with who Castle defending. The kid looks strong as a bull, same stoic look like Kawhi, but hoping without an Uncle Dennis out there.
need to spot the difference. Steph is properly and well brought up.. by his parents.. whose father, Stacey, is TD's teammate at Wake Forest
Wow I thought I was a Spurs junkie![]()
Wemby went ballistic! 6/12 from 3, 14 rebounds, 34 incredible points. Amazing performance. I hope Sochan recovers quickly honestly.
I wish Sochan speedy recovery but the silver lining is Castle starting and growing before our eyes
I did not know this.
You do know Victor is playing his ass off on defense. He's covering a lot of ground some defensive possessions. I've only commented on his offense in the posts I've made these past couple of weeks, but I should have pointed out - he's playing hard on defense most of the time. That's gotta be taxing him a little bit on the offensive end. I've been meaning to mention it, but I thought it went without saying that most people would see that some of that fatigue is related to the work he's doing on defense, but I guess people aren't thinking about that and just focusing on what appears to be ill-advised 3 pointers he's been taking.
I really thought this doesn't need to be said, but glad that you did say it. I thought most people are accounting for the work he does on defense likely causing him some fatigue on offense.

Sniffer…
Relax fellers, this is the Kings we are talking about. Yes it's nice to see the Spurs put up a good game but lets not lose perspective
at least we are able to beat a team that's on the 2nd night of a back to back with a close game the night before. The question remains if we can beat good teams well rested and fully healthy.
okay but I thought the narrative was that the Spurs are the worst team in the league. Now they beat a team that has 3 all star level players and you guys still make excuses. Pick a ing lane.
Amen.
ST: we don’t shoot or make enough threes.
Also ST: we only beat them because we shot and made a lot of threes.
DUH!
