alright
lay it out for us M_M
US dominance in the air was never in question, this is much of a piece with how things went in the 12 day war last summer
I guess Trump's out loud (not sure he's wise to volunteer it in public) courtship of Kurds partially answers the question of how he means to control facts on the ground in Iran
Air dominance has not resulted in regime change hitherto in recorded history, whether it will be accomplished with moar US troops in theater remains to be seen
alright
lay it out for us M_M
Apparently we already have troops on the ground with the Kurds just across the border in Iraq
reminds me of a famous Wittgenstein quote
The rose has teeth in the mouth of the beast
it will be interesting to see how numerous Trump's insurgent Kurds really are and what they do when they get there, if they do get there
The widely mentioned "weeks, not months" duration of the operation does not necessarily suggest sustained support will continue to flow as in wartime to the insurgent forces
It's like a rich spoiled kid that's playing with toys and toy soldiers.
the US and Israel intentionally wrecked the security of the Strait of Hormuz, just to start a civil war in Iran and leave in a few weeks?
that's the plan?

(oh I guess Israel may keep bombing Iran after the US loses interest and too many precision munitions)
you need to have it explained to you how Israel is an evil country that has taken control of US media and federal government.
Thomas Massie:
“Some told us this war was about nuclear weapons. But six months ago, we were assured our last strike on Iran decimated their nuclear program.”
“Israel forced our hand and dragged us into this war. Again!”

det content though
x.com/WhiteHouse/s...The White House just posted a video mixing real footage from the Iran strikes with a killstreak animation from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
my ears are open, but that wasn't the information I asked for
it was Israeli participation in the Trump assassination attempt M_M was referring to, which I asked him about
what you're saying people have been saying for a long time, it's nothing new
perfidy?
US forces did not attempt to rescue the survivors

https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/...220726387.htmlThe video clip shows McGinnis yelling as he is escorted out and holds on to the hearing room door, “No one wants to fight for Israel!”
“His hand, his hand! Oh! His hand! Oh, my God. Oh, ,” yelled onlookers in the clip.
“Sir. Sir. Sir. Let go of your hand. Let go the door. Let go. Let go,” the officers can be heard calmly telling McGinnis.
“The senator broke his hand, a sitting U.S. Senator just broke the hand of a Marine!” yelled other people in the room. Sheehy eventually leaves the scene and can be heard exchanging expletives with an audience member who insults him.

The drones, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine acknowledged, are posing a bigger problem than anticipated, two sources in the briefing told CNN. They are known to fly low and slow – a feature that makes them more able to evade air defenses than ballistic missiles. Another source familiar with the briefing said the officials made an attempt to downplay concerns about the drones and noted that Gulf state partners had been stockpiling interceptors.
The officials were on the Hill briefing lawmakers as the war with Iran escalates, threatening to spark a global energy crisis and destabilize the Middle East. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that most of Iran’s military installations have been “knocked out” and that new strikes have targeted Iranian leadership.
The officials, a source familiar with the briefing told CNN, were dismissive of questions about how the US would prevent Iran from becoming a failed state, and they said that regime change was an ancillary goal. In their presentation to lawmakers, they reiterated Trump’s recently laid out goals: to destroy Iran’s missile capabilities, its navy, end its nuclear weapon ambitions and stop the country from arming militant groups.

Iran attacks Azerbaijan, prospects for a limited operation seem to be dimming
https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-p...ys-2026-03-05/Azerbaijan warned on Thursday that it was preparing unspecified response measures after #a pair of Iranian drones flew across its border and injured four people in the Nakhchivan exclave, raising concern about further spillover of the conflict in the Middle East.
"These attacks will not remain unanswered," the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry said in a statement.
