Tim Thomas' hand gesture was priceless tonight. It was funny how much he celebrated with his mates on the bench just to see the smirk wiped form his face in the fourth quarter. The guy's a total bag, always trying to start .
Um, the series is also only 3-2 and going back to Phoenix. If the Suns win, can I then make fun of Dirk's tongue gesture after every shot/drive to the basket or Jason Terry's big lips sticking out gesture? I mean, if you won the series, then the smirk would be wiped off, but rest-assured you'll see Tim Thomas shooting a few threes and making the hand signal (a gesture that goes back to the NY/NJ series of a few year's back when he did it on Jason Collins). Then he'll proceed to call Dirk a "big-ass pussy" and blow him a kiss and I'll think it's funny because he does always try to start .

But Jason Terry punches guys in the nuts, falls to the ground after he gets a foul called on him, and Josh Howard taunts people after every shot, and then injures his shin/ankle in a flop to the ground in Game 4 and es about a foul call in the locker room interview (I watched the replay about 10 times on my Tivo and slowed it down - there was contact, but he tried to sell it by falling and got his leg caught on the way down)? Then Caveman (Stackhouse) has the nerve to get in Nash's face in Game 1? I'd like to send him back to his cave with a club and buffalo carcass, but that can't happen until Game 7 now can it? Once again, you referred to nothing in my previous post, which was talking about how Dirk slaps down at the ball instead of playing defense, which was Mark Cuban's main complaint about Tim Duncan in the previous series... I wasn't talking about Tim's hand shake in front of his face. If we want to start talking about big-shot celebrations, then that Dirk tongue thing is getting pretty out of control.

two techs, five pages devoted to TWO TECHS...btw, it should really be one tech since d'antoni's reaction warranted a tech....so ONE FREAKIN' TECH and you need five pages to whine about this...remember when they called that technical on terry for shoving thomas in game 3, despite the fact that thomas shoved his way through terry/dirk who were just standing there? we didn't have a meltdown the way the suns did tonight, it's not like they lost by one point
That's because it was a double-technical... If Howard got a tech for going to trash talk Raja Bell and it was a double T then it would have been ok and D'Antoni probably wouldn't have gotten a tech. The no call on Griffen about 3 plays before down on the other end was the instigator that got D'Antoni riled up. And Terry didn't just "push" him - he elbowed him in the chest and Dirk gave him an extra push - after Dirk screamed "he didn't need to walk through us" then Bennett Salvatore gave the double tech on Terry and Thomas... just like Danny Crawford heard Tim calling Dirk a "big ass pussy" tonight and blowing him a kiss... then Dirk fired back, and they got the double T. With Josh Howard approaching Raja as he's walking away, the Suns (and we as fans) felt that there should have been some retribution for such a play, especially the way in which Howard kept trash talking as he was walking back to the bench. Likewise, the tech on D'Antoni may have been warranted, but Ken Mauer should not have called 3 techs in the fourth quarter. Now, I'm a varsity high school basketball official in Houston (I know, it's not the NBA or college or anything, but it's a part-time gig and those other guys had to start somehwere too). I take it very seriously and I try to make it as fair a game as possible myself, and I can understand and accept what the NBA officials are going through out there and can cut them some slack sometimes. The way Danny Crawford carries himself out there is admirable and he rarely loses his cool.

Therefore, they teach us to have a patient whistle out there when a coach is out of control and if you've already made one tech call, walk away from the coach, and let one of your two partners handle the situation and if they feel the coach still is getting out of hand, they can give the second tech. I felt it was just poor officiating and he let personal issues get in the way of the game and you could tell D'Antoni was upset when he was talking to Danny Crawford because Mauer ended up giving him the T instead of Crawford (who was standing right next to him). Earlier, you could see Mauer talking to Stack when he was freaking out and he's saying "now don't go do something stupid... don't do something stupid" to help calm Caveman down. But even minutes later, Stackhouse was still at it, so why was he not given a T for what I thought was going a little too far... It's little things like that which make the officiating seem a little one-sided, especially in such an important game.

When Avery is jumping around and walking all over the court yelling at the officials, why is he rarely given a T for such antics, but D'Antoni is asked to walk back to his bench at one point tonight?

I counted 50 posts by Spurs fans on the two techs give or take 4 either way the rest were

    a)posts from oppossing teams fans
b)Posts in response to opposing teams fan i.e. telling off Mavs fans (see that's what happens when you don't ban other teams fans no matter how bad, lively discussion is born)
    c)pictures

So next time you about how much we do your ing homework, like a good girl.

Yep, more non-spurs fans whine about the whining than we comment on the two technicals.

No, the funny thing is that THIS IS spurstalk and yet there is a new "ref ing" thread and a new Mavs thread started every day. How long has it been since the Spurs played a game in these playoffs? STFU already with the whining, the Suns fans aren't whining about it as much as you guys and they're the ones still in the playoffs. We aren't going to get the out, it's entertaining as to see all these threads devoted to AJ's wife, Mark Cuban, Dirk, and the Mavericks.

HAHAHAHA, Dirk's is greater than some two-bit Spurs fan, but whatever.

Anyway, I just finished reading the Suns forums regarding the game. So while the Spurs are whining about the calls in the game tonight, the Suns fans are berating D'Antoni for picking up ANOTHER technical and calling Raja "stupid" for picking up the first one. It's not just one post, there are several posts about these silly technicals picked up by DA/Raja. Funny how some fans don't use the refs as a bailout excuse for why they lost the game. Oh yeah, while some of you spurs fans are busy supporting the Suns, keep this in mind: a funny post on their board game thread: "Are we playing the Spurs?!?!?! We are making ZERO effort on the boards?"

Obvously it was th key ...
This 2 technicals change momentum and mavs get confidence from this gift ...
Yeah it's a gift and you can say rubberry if you're a phoenix suns fans (that i'm not) ... but i'm allways for the little one who don't get what he deserves from referee ...

Come on, see al the calls for mavs , 3-4 there's no fall at all ... not even a touch ... It was just Nowitsky and Cuban influence. Don't tell me that referee are so bad in NBA ....

Despite of the 3-4 imaginary falls, half of the calls are just limit ... no fall, just contact or hands on the man ... you can call on every move !!! Especially for diaw or nash going to the paint ... There were falls all the game on them ...

the thing is that referee aren't silly and can give calls to say ... "and this one, we werre pretty kind with nash" ... Ok, they give 2-3 fouls to Nash ... they just choose their time ...

Technical on Bell is just scandalous ... and OK, the other from D'Antoni is deserve but you can stay and be screwed without saying a word ...
All game was just limit pro-mavs, and referee just interfere 2-3 minutes to allow Dallas get 7-10 pts, confidence and Dirk made shots from here ...

You can say, ok it's no fair-play to recognize thta Mavs was just better ...

It reminds me when the mayor of Paris cried and tell everyone that London just cheat and do things the wrong wway ... Everyone critic him ... He was just the victim and just try to have justice ...
But Believe it or not in our wolrd, injustice is just admit and fair-play is just about to accept it ... Cynism is the king ...

Ok, That's just a basketball game but it reveals a lot ...

Bye and Go Suns for game 6 !!!!

    Drclic.

he should not have gotten a T but a flagrant would have been appropriate. the guy pushed him while in the air without ever going for the ball. he has serious anger management issues. the league needs to step on him now before he actually injures someone with that type of play.

I'm not getting involved in the tech argument here, although I think Raja is a marked man now with his little "rough" plays he does (Kobe incident).

Even though I picked the Mavs to win the series, I couldn't help but laugh at this call while watching the game (photo below). Marion was called for the foul on this play...a common ploy by Dirk of kicking out his leg to draw contact.

    What Raja push ?

Ok look at the foul from Dirk on Tim Thomas (he pushed and only get a late call) .. it was far more dangerous ! (drive and slam from Thomas) and we all know why he did it .. because HE and not Tim Thomas trash talk and get upset ... another rule referee seem to forget when comes the Dirk ...

No, obviously for NBA it's Dallas' year at the West ... Mark Cuban was right to go after the referee, it works ... Pathetic.

Wow. The NBA wants Dallas. Crazy.
I'm not into any conspiracy theory, but it's rather coincidental that this year's POs have the highest number of OT games than any other year, and there are AT LEAST six more games to play(1). Also, how many G7's have there been this year compared to other years? I'm willing to bet that's up there as well. Perhaps the refs aren't favoring a team for a series, but rather favoring a 7-game series???

    (1) - I heard this second-hand and have not been able to confirm it.

I was wondering about the Raja tech myself but according to the recaps he had extra contact on Harris after the foul and seeing as Terry got called pulling the same later -- they're even.

Even though I picked the Mavs to win the series, I couldn't help but laugh at this call while watching the game (photo below). Marion was called for the foul on this play...a common ploy by Dirk of kicking out his leg to draw contact.

If that's what I think it is: that's Dirk's tactic of picking up his dribble, pumpfaking and getting clipped on the arm while going for a fadeaway... occassionally on one-leg like so. The angle and timing of the photo just makes it look like he's kicking; you could see his feet is well on the side of Marion.
