I don't have a preference.

That was fun.
I am happiest about Jennifer Hudson winning.
Well, no bid surprises this year, except for the Murphy loss. I was a little surprised that the Good Shepard didn't make the list of Best Motion pics, but, what are you gonna do?
I still think Murphy deserved the best supporting actor win, its' as if he knew he wasn't gonna win (anyone see tears?)
It's an honor just to be nominated.
ShoogarBear - I don't know if you were just kidding about the Scottish accent thing. But Forrest plays Edi Amin, the former dictator of Uganda. He had a love for all things Scottish - he even wore kilts on occasion and sometimes referred to himself as the "last king of scotland"
Anyway, it's a fantastic movie, so definitely check it out. Pretty gory though.
Aye, capn. I dinna know that. So the fillum is not krrrrrrrrap?
And BTW, it's Idi Amin.
It's okay, but I miss the wild mess that made him look like a chainsaw murderer. That's the Jack we know and love.
The film is brilliant in my opinion and belonged up there with the others in the Best Film category. Forest Whittiker is unbelievable. He goes from being really charming and lovable to a total monster - like the real Idi Amin. His was the most deserved Oscar I've seen in years. He even learned Swahili for the film. it's a good drama and thriller.....the last 30 minutes are nail-biting.
you gotta see it.
Edit:
You're right it's Idi....so you have seen it?
No, I haven't seen it yet. And yes, I was joking about the accent.
Nice to see I am not the only one who can't detect sarcasm![]()
I thought you might be joking. That's why I asked. But if you hadn't heard of the man or the movie I wouldn't be surprised because I know lots of people who haven't.
i hear they take quite a few liberties with actual events, but that whitaker is great. then again from what i was told by someone who grew up in the area showing what really happened would be unwatchable.
I did detect sarcasm, that's why I asked if he was joking...Twice.
Well, the Scottish doctor is completely fictional for one, but most of it's credible. Most things I've read about Amin would be unwatchable though.
