I heard that all of these school shootings historically have happened around 4/20, Hitler's birthday. I always thought 4/20 was simply get high day, I just learned that it was Hitler's birthday...

I never made any connection or wasn't aware that 4/20 was also Hitler's birthday. I mean, I have learned of when Hitler's birthday was, but I never really implanted it into my brain. I never bothered to remember.

It was a hazy picture of a man, whose last note was a rant against rich kids and debauchery, but who also appeared organized enough to secure weapons and stage his rampage.
According to school officials, Cho even had time to post a deadly warning on a school online forum.
"im going to kill people at vtech today," they said he wrote.
The Chicago Tribune reported on its website that Cho left a note in his dorm that included a rambling list of grievances. The note included rants against "rich kids," "debauchery" and "deceitful charlatans" on campus.

Apparently some guy who took a playwriting class with the shooter has posted some commentary along with links to his plays, which are supposed to be disturbing (I haven't read them):

I just read those and I don't know why at that point they didn't alert anyone of it. He's pretty much screaming out for some major help in both plays. It's kind of sad how now you can't ever feel safe pretty much anywhere you go. Even now days even the little kids are involved. I remember an incident last year while teaching in a local elementary school where a student ended up bringing a bi-bi gun to school and was thinking about using it. I know it's a different type of gun but it could've still injured a lot of people.
Is anyone else bugged by ESPN playing this story up? I don't see the connection to sports. It somehow smacks of pandering and, I don't know, insincerity.
The only connection I can see is this: How many people know of Virginia Tech because of athletics (see first post in this thread)?

I read them. They sucked. I didn't even find them that disturbing. They were just stupid.
I go to St Edwards (Austin) and yesterday the campus was shut down because we had a bomb threat. I was in the cafeteria, 8:00 in the morning, and some guy came in yelling at everyone to get outside. I went back to the dorm to wake up my roommate and let him know what was going on when we were given orders to leave all buildings. Smart, right? Get a bomb threat so everyone go outside.... it was a great idea. Another great idea was when they had everyone on campus evacuate to the soccer field, and in doing so pass directly by the main building, which is where the bomb threat was aimed. Even smarter.
Obviously, it was just a copycat stunt, but it's weird when these things hit closer to home.
Police activity at my school seemed to be increased. There was a police officer strolling around the 3rd floor of the main educational center watching the lower levels and such. I got home and a police officer was making sure doors were locked at the elementary school across the street...something I have never seen them do in 13 years living here.
Nothing like being careful AFTER. All these stories about the shooters previous history makes me sick. I know they can't jump the gun whenever anyone makes a threat but geeez, what do the victims families feel like right now, possibly seeing the massacre could easily have been prevented.
How about we wait until the bodies are released to their families, let alone buried, before we move into the political posturing over this event? It is sickening to have seen this event turned into a pawn for those with an agenda, be it 'gun control' or 'gun rights'.
I don't think we should be investigating everyone who writes morbid material. A lot of kids and college students write some pretty ed up but they don't end up killing people. Many times it's a release.
We have to remember that this is a very very very rare occurrence. That's not going to console the families who lost loved ones, but we can't obsess over lunatic-proofing our society to the point where we become an overzealous police state.
Now NBC claims that they received a package from the shooter, and the time is undetermined. They say that it could have been received in between the morning dorm shootings and the classroom ones. They contain video and letters from the shooter, sent directly to NBC.
I think they're going to talk about it tonight on NBC Nightly News.

Crazy er, Im surprised noone saw any warnings or red flags prior. This was obviously carefully planned out.
