Just for the record, a buddy of mine MSNed me during the game and was asking me if I was "watching the refs beat the Warriors", and he is not a Mavs, GS, or Spurs fan, his favourite team is the Raps, so he doesn't care as much about the Western Conference.Did you guys watch the same game? The Mavs got no calls at all up until the fourth...The Warriors lost their composure and end of story.
Also, I think we all know Stern hates the Mavs (at least Cuban).
I was pulling for the Spurs to take out the Nuggets, but why do 99% of Spurs fans hate the Mavs so much? Did you hate them that much before last years playoffs?
I always root for Texas teams, with Spurs being ahead of the Rockets on my radar, but I have never understood why all the hate...
I saw the game, and thought to myself, "Gee, it's odd Davis was thrown out for clapping and mocking the refs. I thought the refs were trained to ignore this sort of confrontation."
I went to bed after Davis was ejected, it was just too obvious who was going to win, and no matter how well GS played afterwards, there is absolutely ZERO chance they could win it.
BTW, I wanted the Mavs to win, because I want the Spurs to get redemption in the WCF, but from the looks of it, there is no way any team can beat the Mavs with that kind of offciating, really got the meaning home court advantage.

GS didn't play well, they had lots of turnovers, as is their wont, they don't use a lot of ball movement, they just jack up a lot of shots Rucker League style, they have no interior d and everyone except Dirk took advantage of it since we can get a layup or dunk anytime we want. Avery used the bigs tonite and it helped a lot -- packing the paint and grinding them down, the Warriors started settling for pullup jumpers in the third when the Mavs made their run and started to tire them out. Anytime Salvatore is involved, BOTH teams are going to get some bad calls going against them -- the Warriors got some tickytack fouls or no calls go against them, but so did Dallas. And when they weren't able to get the looks they usually get against lesser teams but not against a top team like Dallas, they lost their cool and Davis INTENTIONALLY got himself thrown out, probably to save his knees for Game Three.

I'm glad we agree that rational, intelligent discourse is a good thing and that shallow trashtalk and unbridled profanity is for children. I find that the best policy when you come across those posters is to ignore it because they feed on the attention. I like spurstalk because there are knowledgeable basketball fans that like to talk x's and o's and it's fun. Frothing rage and working out issues on an internet messageboard is certainly the price to pay to separate the wheat from the chaff and getting to engage in intelligent discourse with other knowledgeable basketball fans. I have no pity for Baron Davis. These are the ing Playoffs and you're in good position to make a run against the best team in the league. You don't get cute with the refs in the third quarter, especially after you've been warned.
The Warriors are a talented group of athletes but their downfall will be their own stupidity. They fell apart last night. Maybe if they had a coach who took these games seriously, they'd actually have the serious chance of knocking out the Mavs that Dallas sports radio types have been so quick to give them.
