at that little whiner d'antoni. way to get pissy about smush trying to give the fans their money's worth at the end of the game when you like to play your starters with two minutes left and the team up by fifteen.

anyway, it's nice to see the lakers win with a team effort, odom, kwame, bryant all played very well with some help from the bench. nice win, especially considering that the other games were booooooooooooooooring.

Yes it has, he does it all the time against the Spurs
Yeah, what bad luck that he just happens to pick those games to disappear.

Yes he should, it called classless. When you are already winning and there are seconds on the clock you run it out instead of trying to score. I'm glad Raja went after him to not let him score.
you know how many games the suns have played with starters still in the game despite a 15+ point lead with a couple of minutes left in the game? what goes around comes around and people want to see their home team put the smackdown as much as possible when they go to the playoffs, that's what it's all about.

anyway suns in five, maybe six but that would require a lot from the lakers...hopefully for the spurs' sake, it will go to six

Caught the 1st few minutes, then the whole 2nd half.

Now i read "After falling behind 11-0 and 31-14, the Lakers outscored Phoenix 26-11 to draw within two late in second quarter."

The 1st qtr Phx is up immediately by 11 yet they foul the Lakers over and over while the Laker foul them nary once? 12-2 FTAs in 1st qtr, 15-4 by half.
This is not passing the smell test. Anyone want to expound?

What do you mean? The Lakers came out flat and started playing well. The Suns came out playing well and went flat. The Lakers could have gotten more trips to the line than they did. It's easier to get to the line when you have a team's defense on their heels. See the western semis from last year.

I'll admit off the bat that I'm way too tired and lazy to go back thru all 9 pages of this thread, but has anybody mentioned how Barbosa started jawing and pointing at the Lakers bench when he made the three to tie it up at 89? maybe that talk had something to do with Smush wanting to do something classless at the end.

Either way, it's Smush Parker trying to pull some , if I were Raja i'd let him make the layup to give him some blind confidence. Maybe he'll go jacking up shots and shoot 1-16 or something.

So...you're defending what Smush did? Trying to dunk in the last second of the game when the win is already in your hands?

Ponky, remind me to dunk all over you (on a 9-foot hoop, mind you) next time we meet.

Lakers got a shot at winning Game 4, I'll give them that. Nice job on the comeback tonight and getting some contribution out of more than just Kobe. I predict Game 4 will be close again and they'll pull out the W, but get rolled again in Phoenix and lose at home in six.

It's a fairly valid point that the Suns aren't really in any position to take the high ground on the sportsmanship front. I still think that D'Antoni is just going to use it as a motivating factor because the Lakers are likely to tie this thing up otherwise.

I still think Kobe was not making his teammates better at the fourth quarter. The Lakers were a better overall team with Lamar and Brown taking a part of the offense at the third.

Smush is a jackass for trying to score when the game was over but it really isn't that big of a deal.

You guys might want to give Smush a break- He was only trying to score his first points of the series.

And, the officials eventually conspired to keep him scoreless.

At some point, professional basketball players need to nut the up and make themselves better. Kobe is not responsible for the improvement in those guys tonight.

It's incredible how much more smoothly the offense runs when Luke Walton is one the floor, even if he doesn't touch the ball at all during a possession.

When they had the guard combo of Smush and Diet Smush out there, Kobe had no choice but to jack stuff up.

Nope, his teammates were ready to shoot the ball, but Kobe didn't even dare look to pass. Phoenix almost took the lead if not for somehow good enough defense.

hehe, i'd have to take a charge because i'm skeeeeeeeeeerrred and don't play well, shortie here

anyway, yeah, i think it was alright, who really cares if they score two more points, the suns should've taken care of the ball, that's the game...score, defend, score, repeat. also, it's the playoffs, the lakers are still at a huge disadvantage and will probably lose in 5, maybe 6...why not allow their fans to celebrate a thunderous dunk and get their money's worth? people that whine about sporstmanship in such cases have no heart and compe ive drive, imo. i guess for me, when i compete in a sporting event or actually anything, work, sports, games, driving (yes, driving!), i want to beat everyone and make sure they know it...if that makes me an asshole, oh well

besides, d'antoni is the most compe ive coach in the league (at least outwardly he shows it), he should understand just fine. that IS one thing, and probably the only thing, i admire about him, he's just crazy about the game and can't stand to lose....which is also the reason he keeps his starters in the game at the end when they are up by double-digits, he wants to make sure they win and win BIG

Both. Favorite players are both Duncan and Davis.Sadly, both got ejected at games when they were laughing and clapping.
