AN: Putting the officiating issue aside, what is the major reason for your extremely low FG% ?

Yao Ming: Of course, it was due to that I had not played well. Moreover I was tightly covered and guarded in front and at my back. When Tracy McGrady is not playing on the court, actually, Chuck Hayes will serve very little purpose (offensively). He does not have mid-range jumpers, and other than Tracy McGrady, we have no one that can dish those crispy and penetrating passes to him for his layups (down at the basket). Whenever Chuck Hayes and I were on the court at the same time, the opponents would completely give up on defending Chuck, and just put all their focus/attention on me. The Phoenix Suns did not use fronting to guard me; but they just converged and double-teamed on me extremely quick and fierce, and just swarmed and surrounded me. For me, that became very difficult (to shoot or to pass out to my team mates.)

AN: So when Luis Scola came in to play, he managed to change this whole situation.

The game against San Antonio Spurs was his 10th game. My first game that I scored over 30 points was also my 10th game versus Dallas Mavericks. I scored 31 points in that game with Dallas Mavericks. Luis Scola played so smart and in the past 2 games, he caused so many offensive fouls/charges from the opponents! He had one such offensive charge against Manu Ginobili. I joked with him: “Well, you and Ginobili are birds of the same feather”

Scola would've been amazing for y'all. Too bad the Spurs couldn't see his abilities. But that's good that they are so ignorant because we couldn't have gotten such a fantastic player for Vaginis. Well when the Spurs signed these guys I didn't think they would be at the end of the bench seeing how you guys were riding their sack when it was official. And the Spurs are older and also are starting to lose their memory because the age since they gave us the boost we need to catapult ourselves to a championship. Thanks.
