Also, how complicated is that?
HOU has no cap space. Once the offer sheet time expired & with Ariza S&T which keeps them over the cap. So if the NBA agrees, would everything reset back to Parsons cap hold then HOU could do a S&T into Dallas's cap space, then after that do the S&T for Ariza in the trade?
If the NBA allows that, then it completely ing defeats the purpose of having the rule.
Even more complicated is that this would have to be accounted for:

Anyone have anyone in mind for February's buy-out market?
Where the is Chicago getting all this cap room to sign people?
Surprised Jameer Nelson and Augustin are still available.
Well, they didn't use cap room to sign Hinrich. They'll get the cap room to sign Gasol and Mirotic by using the amnesty provision on Boozer. That report of a 6.5M first year salary for Gasol is looking like a pretty good estimate.
U
Augustin not anymore. He is going to the Pistons.
Detroit brings in Josh Smith to pair with Monroe/Drummond. Then bring in Meeks/Augustin/Caron Butler. Wonder what Butler will make?
Detriots been very aggressive with Meeks, Butler and Augustine. Looking to make playoffs, which is pretty realistic in the east.
Yikes - 2/9 for Caron (hopefully it's a team option in year 2 or not guaranteed). That is 34M for Meeks/Caron/Augustin.
Or in individual year: 14M next year for those 3.
I assumed Butler would get the minimum. He's not even as good as RJ at this point.
There is a team option for the 2nd year IIRC. Still though, $34 million for those 3 is brutal. I thought them getting rid of Dumars might help, but maybe not.
Its like Texas teams share player like crazy
Brent Barry-S.A. (2 stints) to Houston
Dejuan Blair-S.A. to Dallas
Mike Finley-Dallas to S.A
Drew Gooden-S.A. to Dallas
Richard Jefferson-S.A. to Dallas
Ian Mahinmi-S.A. to Dallas
Tracy McGrady-Houston to S.A
Steve Novak-Houston to S.A
Maybe they need to reach the cap floor. Thats why the Magic have been handing out over-sized deals to Frye and Gordon.
Detroit's gone plumb mad. The is Van Gundy doing?
That should only be an issue if they weren't planning to keep Monroe.
I mean, the Augustin deal isn't too bad with how he played last year and it's short. Caron's is way too much, but at least it's effectively one year with the TO in Y2, but still.
If they don't keep Monroe, is Drummond/Smith/Caron/Meeks/Jennings with a bench of Augustin/Bynum/Jerebko/Singler/Pope a playoff team even in the East?
That cap floor is such a non-issue. Worst case, for that one year, whatever you are below the floor, you just pay evenly out to the guys on your roster.
