Sometimes that first school is very important to a recruit. Plus he's said that he's been on the A&M campus many times compared to UT and other places.
You sound like a record machine.
If we really get the crap beat out of us this year and next then I think we lose him. If we at least do decent I think we'll land Scott.
Also, I've heard his grandpa loves A&M and hates Texas, but who knows the validity of that.Hoza Scott showed up to the Texas state 7-on-7 championships wearing a Texas A&M snapback hat on Friday. He wanted to make it clear which school was in the lead for his pledge.
“I went and bought this two days ago,” Scott said. “My mom wanted me to go buy it and show that A&M is No. 1. So that’s what I did.”
He's easily the worst poster on this thread.
Two quick quotes from 2014 DE/LB Hoza Scott (24/7):
“Right now Texas A&M is actually my favorite,” Scott told Hookem.com. “But after visiting Texas, it’s getting very close. They are neck and neck to be honest with you. Texas is right after A&M.”
“I just have to keep getting to know the coaches better,” said Scott. “We really hit it off and I like them all. I was very impressed by my visit to Texas. The more I get to know them, the better their chances are. Like I said though, it’s very close.”
Kind of a crazy update on RB Dontre Wilson from 24/7. He's apparently soured on Texas since committing to Oregon, but....
“There’s a lot going on up there (in Oregon) right now that he doesn’t like,” said the source. “Depending on what happens at Oregon, Dontre might not end up there. There’s a good chance it won’t happen.”
“He won’t be going to Texas,” the source said. “I can guarantee you that. He will not end up there.”
What's your feeling on where he'd land?
If you don't like what I have to say ignore me, this is a Longhorn thread, I'm sure there is a better thread for you on some Tech board or some aggsy board.
I haven't said anything that isn't true. I sound like a record machine because the delusion of tech and aggsy fans is pretty thick here.
As a matter of fact they have their own thread, but for some reason they still feel the need to post in a LONGHORN thread![]()
No idea, Sisk. Two teams that trailed Oregon and UT before his decision were Ohio State and OK State. Part of me wonders if he's reached out to UT since committing to Oregon and the staff told him they'd moved on.
DE Dajuan Drennon has committed to North Carolina:

Tfloss, seems to me that the Horns are lower in the recruiting rankings (I know, it's an inexact science, to say the least) than I believe I've ever seen them before
Do you feel like there's less quality so far in the Horns class? Or are the pundits/analysts just way off?
Small class, RSJ de-commitment are the biggest reasons for that.
I realize there's a million miles to go before NSD, but I was just curious. Thanks
Couple more quick questions for you Horns..
You guys are happy with job (recruiting) the coaches are doing, I take it?
What has been the impact on Texas (state of) recruiting since the ags joined the SEC?
It hasn't even been one year since they joined.
We will see the impact in 2014, that is looking like a pretty tough year for Texas recruiting wise. LSU and Bama have really turned on the jets in an effort to have an impact in the state of Texas for 2014.
If Texas is going to maintain it's grip on recruiting we are going to have to win this year like we did back in 2008 and 2009.
We know aggsy won't win , but the exposure the SEC is getting in Texas is going to take it's toll if Texas continues to struggle.
Nick Harvey names top three: LSU, Aggies, and Baylor.
I feel like LSU will be our Achilles ankle of the 2014 class. They might take Tony Brown, Nick Harvey, and Darrion Johnson. Crazy stuff.
Nuh man, you're fine. No need to get all defensive. I'm just sick of hearing, "Aggies will have a horrible year in the SEC and we will win out all the recruits when they start losing games."
It may be true but no need to repeat it once per page. Plus, Aggies haven't lost a game yet. Let's just wait and see how the year unfolds and then we'll start talking. Keep it up man.

I think Texas will get Tony Brown. It won't be easy, but he has the staff's full attention early in the process.
Texas will be right there for Harvey once they offer.
I don't think anyone knows what's going with Darrion Johnson. His brother, Orangebloods and Hook Em 247 poster BrenhamHorn, seems like a good person. I hope he can help his brother receive a college education. Wherever that might be.
Ed Paris will be a tough get. LSU is the clear leader there. Katrina evacuees will continue to pop up on the recruiting radar. Texas must do better with the former Louisiana kids.
JUCO and late bloomer or bust.
I'm rooting for Griffin. I don't care where he plays his college or professional ball. He comes from one of the toughest backgrounds I've ever come across. His GREAT GRANDMOTHER is his guardian. Think about that. Mom, Dad, Granddad, Grandmom, uncles, and aunts aren't around to take care of him.
Unimaginable to me. Best of luck to the young man.
Did Taylor Hamm give him that hat to wear? I'm not kidding.

Worth mentioning that Baylor picked up a commitment from WR Robbie Rhodes' high school QB.
It'll be interesting to see if Texas offers. Texas wanted Dontre Wilson, and Nixon has a similar skill set. Theoretically there's a spot for him.
