Jalen Green being included doesn't make sense if the trade is going to happen before the draft.
Suns aren't taking back 50 million that become 70 million when extensions kick in.
trade can be agreed to before the draft, and then the rockets can just draft whoever the suns tell them, and that pick can be traded as outgoing salary post-draft

Oh you guys have just been replaced by ChatGPT. Please leave your keycards at the door as you are exited from the building:

    3. The Kaleidoscopic Kazoo of Kevin Durant’s Olympian Jellybean Jamboree

    5. The Quantum Quesadilla of Kevin “30000‑Point” Durant’s Galactic Gondola
    6. The Baroque Banana of Kevin Durant’s Time-Traveling Topiary
    7. The Venetian Vortex of Kevin “NBA Scoring an” Durant’s Martian Macaron

    9. The Surreal Soufflé of Kevin “Olympic Gold” Durant’s Galaxy-Goose Gala
    10. The Turbulent Tutu of Kevin Durant’s Interdimensional Ice‑Cream Igloo

A little outside of our typical format, but otherwise these are great.

I'm not even sure if I'd trade #10 for Durant in H-Town's shoes. Not if Jakucionis is still on the board for example. I would definitely trade that pick over taking Carter Bryant or CMB though.

[Grange] But to cut through some of the smoke: multiple sources have confirmed to me that Raptors centre Jakob Poeltl would not be part of any deal — however unlikely a Raptors-Suns deal might be — centred around Durant.
At this point they won't even get a solid starter for KD.

it never made sense that the raptors offered 9 + Jakob + Barrett/Quickley because that would have already been accepted

Pretty much. Also didn’t buy the Minnesota offer that was being tossed around either.

I’m not sure Ishbia is anywhere near as smart as he thinks he is

Eh, Barrett isn't that valuable, he's on Devin level for me, I don't think they were offering Quickley.

You'd have to expect any Toronto offer would be contingent on KD agreeing to an extension.

Talking with my inside sources (which do not actually exist), I'm gonna say I don't think this one is happening.

vecenie brought up how awful Toronto's books are and the ability to get off some contracts while getting a 1 year durant rental wouldnt even be the worst thing for them

they have real money committed to Barnes, Ingram, Quickley, Poeltl, Barrett...

tbh, I think the finals dragging on to 7 days is really slowing some things down. We had the Bane deal, but there might be a few more in the queue that teams would just prefer to wait until after the finals to pull the cork on.

I expect the start of next week to be a little cray cray.

Can we get this to a 100 pages before this is no longer a possibility (I'm not real certain there is even real interest by the Spurs)

I'm skeptical the Spurs are really interested- probably Spurs tossing out some low ball offers at best.
I posted this a week ago at page 53

I really think we can get this to 200 before nothing happens

I'm good with the Spurs not trading for Durant. Sure, he'd be great to have on the team, but I agree it's not enough to win a le and if he isn't enough to win a le, why tie up resources that could land us better long term fits.

wherever he ends up, i think trade goes down around midday tuesday. suns are going to want to drag it as close to the draft as they can in a game of chicken, but other teams are going to want certainty going into the draft on wednesday

Only teams who may not have put bids in are Indiana and OKC.
