I'm confident that there are other (likely more important) factors, but surely it's not a coincidence that the teams on his short list are teams in states that do not collect state income tax.
Does anyone know why Jimmy Butler wanted to go to Phoenix? I remember before he was traded, Phoenix was the team he wanted to go to. Why was that? Did he want to play with Durant, or did he want to go for some other reason? Is he friends with Booker or something?
Conversely, why would Durant have Miami as one of the destinations he wants to go to if Jimmy Butler isn't there anymore? I wouldn't think they'd be a contender even in the weaker east even with Boston and Milwaukee having major injuries. I would think Durant would want to go to a team that can really contend, or come very close to it where he can maybe help put the team over the top.
I'm confident that there are other (likely more important) factors, but surely it's not a coincidence that the teams on his short list are teams in states that do not collect state income tax.
Beware at this very moment all of the serious buyers are rummaging through their sofas searching for 2nd round picks! Brian Wright might have to go Nuclear!

Looks like the Spurs actually want to keep Barnes and it‘s Keldon + Devin which is probably why the Spurs didn’t even offer #14
where are you getting that from?
Source? Evan? This is my preferred trade
As they should, tbh
If the Spurs arent including 14th, then why are the suns working out Wolf? Maybe we dont win this sweepstakes after all
you could argue that its better to trade barnes because then next offseason keldon becomes a nice expiring contract. so you could trade the HB expiring now, and the KJ expiring later.
meanwhile if you trade KJ now, then Barnes expires/walks, you dont get value for him, and nobody is going to S&T for a middle aged HB
still, id like to see a source for what Drunkford is claiming
Evan Townsend doesn't know what he's talking about
I mean it could be included. It was just being said that the Spurs didn't include it when they made their first offer, so it's still up in the air. They certainly open to moving it.
Trading Barnes cause he's expiring makes more sense to me too. But then extending Barnes would be a lot cheaper than keeping Keldon's 17.5 for another year and his extension would be more expensive (if they would want to keep him). Barnes is the ironman of the NBA. He plays every game and his extension would be a lot less from what he's making now. He shoots 43% from 3. Having 2 forwards shooting 43% from 3 would torture teams. Not to mention the whole leadership aspect.
We extend HB on a nice 2/14 deal
where are you seeing that the spurs want to trade keldon instead of barnes
or are you personally claiming inside info?
I'm not seeing anything, I'm hearing things. I've been posting plenty of stuff that came out way later in the media, so I guess what I'm hearing is pretty accurate.
where are you hearing these things?
what are these predictions you've gotten right before the media caught wind?
He's listening to "KDot the Kemist" and doesn't realize its just a random dude that is talking out of his ass
Dang so it really just is Green + 10 for them? That’s some stingy lol.
My subjective ranking of the likelihood of each of the possibilities, based on the latest info:
1. Miami
2. Minnesota
3. Houston
4. San Antonio
5. Toronto
6. No deal
I’m most uncertain about 2 and 3 and can easily see them being flipped.
Minny is just trying to unload Gobert and his ridiculous contract...but I could easy see Phoenix taking the bait because "WE GET A DEFENSIVE BIG"
Jalen Green and Devin Vassell are just not needle movers for the Suns due to A) their contracts and B) Devin Booker existing. I wonder if the Rockets and Spurs are seeking a 3rd partner to route those guys to or if they just told the Suns "that's the offer, find a 3rd team if you want to" lol. Both teams seem so lukewarm to actually pursuing KD hard and its hilarious. Suns really might just have to go into training camp with KD and it will be so awkward.
Barnes being washed on defense and especially the boards was a key part of their mediocre record last year even with Wemby.
He shot the 3, but he's in the 05-07 Finley era now. The 08-10 era comes next and the Spurs don't need any part of that, especially for any money amount that's notable
I understand that the suns might not like the idea of having say Vassell since they have Booker but Booker and Bridges co-existed quite well
How about Len Bias?
Hmmmmmmmm
lol Phoenix.
