What a show of a franchise Phoenix is. How embarrassing. At this point, they probably just hold onto Durant in a huff in a futile attempt to save face.
Caught this nugget from the yahoo article, “ Poeltl is an elite rim protector.”
lol

Holding on to Durant would be even more embarrassing. Take one of the deals and cut your losses.
If Durant arrives, we shall be in the hunt for the Throne!

Of course Wemby is untouchable. With that, I say Fox, Castle, Sochan, and #2 are also untouchable.
Vassell, KJ, Branham, Wesley, and #14. Maybe we throw in a future 1st rounder or 2-3 future 2nd rounders. If PHX says no, than they can rot in .
The Spurs offer might be Vassell + Keldon/Barnes + Branham + multiple SRP’s
The spurs have some decent SRPs to offer over the next 5 drafts. This doesn’t include their own and the swaps. Maybe they’re offering 4 of these instead of #14
2025 #38
2026 Utah SRP (protected 56-60) which is likely to be in the 30-35 range.
2026 NOP or Portland unprotected.
2028 NOP SRP unprotected
2028 Minny SRP unprotected
2029 LAC SRP unprotected
2029 NOP SRP unprotected
What's the event that Victor, Dylan and KD are supposed to be at today? I remember reading it in one of the threads the other day.
Fanatics fan fest
Loved the docu but it's all fantasies bc he didn't play in the league
TMac is theoretically the most talented/gifted human being to ever play in the league imho
Skills wise you can argue with different players but the combination with his size and length were absurd and unmatched
Him and Vince Carter are the best examples of how much luck is a massive factor in a career, from the team that drafts you to injuries or quality of teammates & coaches etc
Yup. Take the L, learn your lesson, and move on. Best not to shop HOF players at the deadline without their consent. It kinda leads to hard feelings.
thankfully, this isn't happening
Why is it taking so long??
announce it now ....................huhu
I mean...the offseason hasn't even started yet. I'm sure they would like some picks from THIS draft (and there seem to be a few teams willing to deal them), but this could easily draw out until the trade deadline and they will hope some team becomes desperate.
That's going to make for one of an awkward locker room though. And if last season was any indication, this group just doesn't work.
If* they trade him, it won't be announced until after the Finals. Likely Monday or Tuesday before the Draft.
It's likely that Durant does not want the trade announced until after the Finals out of respect for both teams currently playing. The Orlando/Memphis trade was one of those rare trades that were announced with the Finals on. So yes if they trade him before the draft Monday or Tuesday of next week sounds about right.
I'm curious what the Vassell/Keldon/14 (or 2 of the 3 or with Sochan involved) package could fetch if KD ends up elsewhere? If Naz Reid wanted to go to SA does he just have to sign for MLE or could he do a sign and trade for the bigger $$ with the Wolves to be routed to the Spurs? Which other targets could be attainable for that package?
Amick has all over Shams throughout this process. Good chance Shams gets to the other side of this with a lot of egg on his face as an insider. We need Woj back.
Woj was better at not reporting the spin. You can’t be “the guy” and do this. Let the beat reporters leak this stuff.
The one year left on KDs deal is the lynchpin to SA possibly getting him. It's the leverage KD is wielding when he says yeah but I won't resign in, say, MIN if you trade me there. For now it's a deterrence but my fear is that as time goes on some stupid team (lol MIN) will make a bad decision like they do and say it one year rental for KD and take it anyway. Maybe they see getting off Gobert as value and if they can convert that into even a 1 year rental of KD when they are trying to strike gold with Ant in a closing window they'll see it as favorable?
I do think it's reasonable for Minnesota to think he will re-sign if they trade for him, as who else is going to have $60 million to offer him? Jimmy Butler all over again and all.
great point. even beyond the it mentality, teams may also assume hey lets get him in see how the season goes and then hope he either changes his mind or sees his market dry up and he's forced to stay and re-sign ultimately anyway
There is some risk to KD too, if he’s deadset on getting a max extension anyway. If the Suns pivot to having him stay through the end of his contract bc the offers are that bad, he’d enter UFA next summer where I think he’d have a harder time getting his desired number (as opposed to extending off the last figure of his current deal).
