Have you been taking a lot of anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen or Tylenol the last few weeks/months? I had some really nasty bruising for "no reason" a few years ago because I was taking too many anti-inflammatories (blood-thinners) for tension headaches and it was making me bruise.
