Childless person still fretting about in-person schooling.
Kids bring it home to their families who then potentially take it out into the public places.

You posted this at 1am. Lol drunk.

‘Nothing to be afraid of’: Anti-vaxxer said he was ‘glad’ to catch COVID –

    it killed him days later

A Cambridge-educated man who posted a video to social media downplaying the threat of COVID-19 has died from the virus

Solicitor Leslie Lawrenson, 58, died in home in Bournemouth, Dorset,

just over a week after he shared a video claiming that COVID is nothing to be afraid of.

Lawrenson refused to be vaccinated because he felt he didn't need it.

He had no underlying health problems.

For you rednecks, in England a solicitor is a lawyer

England's Delta e has abated, but they had lockdowns and mask mandates.

I was for paying people to stay home, travel bans, robust testing/contact tracing and quarantines -- to beat COVID.

I was against DJT (among other reasons) because he did none of these things and even made COVID worse.

Sorry your man's logorrhea and incompetence got him canned, maybe that's what you liked about him.

Yes, absolutely. I've said so several times in the past few months.

My take has been consistent, whereas yours blows with the wind or gets tailored to the narrative du jour.

Meh, the vast majority of people dying have chosen their adventure. Biden tried to pay them to save themselves. What else is there to do?

Vaccination alone won't help now. The same suite of non-medical inventions that were used worldwide last year to mitigate infection are still available in principle to prevent population level impacts.

The Biden Administration is taking a flyer on all of them and has been behind the back to school push. I see that as an abdication of public health responsibilities and just plain bad decisionmaking in service of political expediency-- little different from Trump, tbh.

I understand your POV, but the most effective mitigation tactics are local-level; and those officials have given up if they ever adopted them at all. People simply will not change their behavior again unless they see personal consequences. This got politicized and will never be unpoliticized, so it's going to be a horribly slow slog waiting for private companies mandating vaccinations and finally insurance companies' closing their purses for significant gains to be made.

I don't disagree, but the Biden Administration messaging and decisions have been horrible. Telling vaccinated people to throw away their masks a couple months back was monumentally short-sighted. So is rushing kids back to school.

The "return to normality" narrative is objectively bad, imho. It creates expectations that can't be satisfied while COVID is spreading uncontrolled.
