8 games...Parker is hurt. The math is painfully simple.
It could happen to anyone, anytime. No need to blame playing for his national team.
Manu is injured and Timmy has been too... rest during the summer, it obvisously hurt them !
What are you gonna say when Ratliff or Mason miss a couple games because of a minor sprain ?
Is it? Kobe won an Olympic medal then proceeded to win a NBA Championship without missing a single game.
You could have a point with older or injury prone players, but TP gave no indication of that.
Bottom line, injuries happen to everybody.
yes he's injury prone, he misses 2-3 weeks every year at the begining of the season. 2-3 WEEKS!!!

Kind of interesting. At the end he states that he's considering not playing this summer and saying the Spurs are his priority etc.
Hopefully he does start to think of the Spurs as his number 1 priority....We'll see...
Hopefully he sees now that
1) France is a bit player on the national stage with no chance with or without him
and
2) The NBA is where he earns his living, and if he wants another big contract at 30 he's gonna have to not be a broken down s .

Good move from Pop, even if i think he does know that TP's injury (that made him miss only 3 games) has nothing to do with NT.
To be honest, TP's lack of rythm could have something to do with him playing with his NT tough.
anyway, Pop going into TP's head for the sake of his team. not very classy but it's his job i guess.
still a sad (and illegal) direction that the NBA takes if best players won't be auhorized to play for their NT.

it should be a contract clause, similar to the thingy where the players can't partake in risky behavior (i.e. monta ellis with moped)
playing more is just as risky as those activities.
So many frickng players got injuries and nobody says that they got injured because they were NOT playing national team.
That is a total bull blaming players for playing !
Blaming injuries on NT play is
Chris Paul didn't play this summer, so why is he injured ?
Kevin Martin didn't play this summer, so why is he injured ?
Tayshaun Prince didn't play this summer, so why is he injured ?
...and the list is long (Kelenna Azubuike, Michael Redd, Jameer Nelson, Travis Outlaw, etc...)
Oh, and sorry for all the NT haters... Tony will play the 2010 FIBA World Championship. 100% sure.
And Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Dwight Howard, Dwyane Wade... will also play the 2010 FIBA World Championship.
Do you know why ? Because they all are basketball players. That's what they do.
And with all their players, France could be the 3rd best team (behind USA & Spain) in this 2010 FIBA World Championship.
