I was out of town for the last 3 games which the Spurs lost. I was flying in last night the Spurs were closing the gap. Now I am back in good 'ol SA, so the Spurs should win these next two handily.

    :P

Backs against the wall, players need to step up and show what their made of. Manu and Jack have done their jobs in game 5, hope to see a full team effort in Game 6 and we got this. Hoping one of those role players can ing give us a boost. As much as I like Neal, Green is simply not that much of liability defensively and needs more than 4 mins of playing time. Both can get hot, but Green can at least put some effort on defense and he needs to play more.

My confidence level is surprisingly high this morning. I just posted a column here and explained why. I think the Spurs have more than a puncher's chance. I feel that they are due to play at least one more excellent game. This isn't the 2001 WCF. The Spurs have had a shot to win every game other than Game 3.

Game 6 is redemption time for laying down against the Lakers after 0.4

This is what will define the last images of the great Spurs. Win 2 and the "torch passing" waits. Crumble and let KD start his reign.

I say OKC gets "ahead of themselves" and tries too hard to run us out the building in front of their fans.

Spurs dominate Game 6 and win a close Game 7.

Nah, some teams do better when their backs are against the wall. Like those Pistons teams and maybe even the current Celtics. But I never have had that sort of confidence with the Spurs. Hasn't made them any less great over the years, though.
To be honest, even those teams got closed out most of the time when the opposition had them on the ropes. and/or put themselves into backs-against-the-walls situations that never should have occurred. Outside of the Lebron quitting for Cleveland series, I can't recall either of those teams beating somebody that was truly better than they were.

I think we just tend to remember their tougher moments and over-emphasize our recent weaker ones.

Same way we won games 1 & 2:

Better ball movement - which was completely gone in Game 3, but has returned for stretches in since the second half of game 4, but it needs to come for 48 minutes.
OKC's role players wilting - they're destroying our role guys right now, which shouldn't happen. They're a decent group, but have played above themselves the past 3 games.

Not that I'm anything close to optimistic for game 6, but it wouldn't take the upset of all upsets for out guys to bounce back and get the job done. It just feels that way given the stakes.

Let's be honest. This season doesnt count. It's ridiculous to think it does. Spurs went on a crazy 20 game streak that included the 10 straight in playoffs. Only to lose 3 straight after beating the same team the first two times. This is not basketball. This is a race where you hope you don't get tired, stay healthy and get lots of help. There was very little practicing or adjusting from game to game. Very little training for season. Duncan and Mangoo are old. Parker is every bit as overrated as he has always been. It was just hard to see because of the short season. Teams were not ready to play. Even dirk had to take time off durning the season because he was not ready and the list of injuries is long because of the out of shape and not ready to play fitness due to this strike season. Whoever wins will be lucky to have the trophy. No need to be upset spur fans. It is what it is. God bless

I give the Spurs a 2% chance to win Game 6. Maybe I'll feel differently as this game gets further in the rear-view mirror but it'd take a got damn miracle, IMO.

    79%

I believe in this team to dig deep and pull it off.

For those who are inclined to assess the Spurs chances relative to the officials who will call the game, I think the odds are very, very high that Joey Crawford will be the crew chief for Game 6.

Thunder bigs are defending it much better. Spurs seemed to get a little too used to the PNR creating one pass for a great shot. Right now, the Thunder are creating situations where it requires 2 passes - which the Spurs have excelled at for most of the season, but not for stretches in this series.

Think it depends. If the Spurs cut down the turnovers, get decent play from someone beyond just Jax on the bench, and the home-calls from the refs are egregious, then the Spurs have a chance. Something like 25%.

If not, if one of the big three don't show up, ect, then they don't have a chance. They also can't blow the chances they have when the Thunder go cold. That 0-7 start in game 5 should have resulted in a 15 point lead, instead it was half that and the Thunder were able to walk back into the game without breaking a sweat.

    *le sigh*

The Spurs have been in every type of playoff situation imaginable, remember? Shouldn't we all know this already... ?? I could've sworn we all did at one time. Pep talks, pep talks, pep talks. GEEZ.

OKC finally took a game here, fine... why would that automatic disclude The Spurs from taking a game over there? It doesn't. Again... this isn't over until it's OVER.

Take care of the ball and they have a chance the series has been all about the TO's..

I think Manu may have shot his wad last night..

Maybe Tony will be more consistant and Thunder will actualy miss some big shots

    For a change..

If the Spurs had anything resembling an reliable zone defense I think it would work wonders against the Thunder. The defensive rotations, coming from the other side, have been atrocious. Tim let him self be caught in no-man's land on almost every pick and roll, it was embarrassing. The biggest problem I see, however, no matter what they say is that I don't think the Spurs believe they can beat the Thunder right now. When Harden enters the game the Spurs completely shrivel up and their pants. It's an utter and complete mind- going on for the Spurs right now. They are getting beat on the court because they're getting beat upstairs.

Oh and I give us a 50% shot at game six and if it goes seven its ours.
