Now, now, children. Be nice to the newbies.
You don't have to but Oberto was a starter and not to mention the third or 4th (depending where you rank Nocioni) best player on the team.
Now, now, children. Be nice to the newbies.
The Spurs only paid a little over half that, the league picks up the rest. The 1.2 and 1.1 million dollars that were paid to Sean Marks and Tony Massenburg last year could have gotten this done.
Scientific experiments have shown that while most young children do not touch a hot stove after the first burn, in some rare cases a child may continue to touch the stove without understanding the connection. It's baffling, really.
Oberto was only the TEAM CAPTAIN of the 2002 Argentine team in the World Championship which you watched so intently and closely.
And yes, he was the starting center on the 2004 Olympic team.
Tired of digging this hole yet?

No, you're just stupid.maybe I don't remember his game because Manu and Scola were the 2 main guys
Yes, your not seeing or remembering anything ceratinly makes you an authority.I'll stick with that, even if I don't remember Oberto's game
The league doesn't pick up any of Marks' deal- it wasn't a vet minimum contract. My point was that this buyout clause shouldn't hold an NBA-caliber player back from playing in the NBA.
This is like trying to tell a blind person the Statue of Liberty is just right over there.
Maybe the Spurs aren't as high on Scola as was let on. Perhaps calling him a "priority" helps them use him as trade bait this summer. The Spurs have always been somewhat skeptical about Scola's size, rebounding and defense in the past.
If the Spurs package Scola's rights along with Nazr or Rasho and get back a good NBA tested player, will you be disappointed?
If the Spurs can't get Scola here for a reasonable contract (i.e. 3year/9M) then I don't see why they should overpay. You know that the Spurs can only contribute about $350K to the buyout, right?
At least somebody is picking up the slack for T Park.
I love argueing as well.
Manu´s sidekick is Oberto, not Scola
Scola is playing with Manu in the national tema since the WC 2002 in Indianapolis and with Oberto since 1999, in Puerto Rico
But the best duo now, is Manu-Scola
In Argentina Oberto is the starter and Scola is the 6th man, but Scola have more minutes and he can finish the games because he have good FT%
spurs should forget oberto and get scola
Dude, don't even try to diss Solid. That guy was posting major scoop on international players before you were crawling.
I don't know if he was renounced last summer or not.The league doesn't pick up any of Marks' deal- it wasn't a vet minimum contract. That's probably not the only reason. My point was that this buyout clause shouldn't hold an NBA-caliber player back from playing in the NBA.
The stupid ing in this thread needs to stop. Please get back on track. Shawn Michaels, you've been OWNED. Now resume to posting about basketball.
Thanks.
This now puts the Spurs in a position to have multiple tradeable assets. Tradeable assets that wouldn't negatively impact the Spurs if they received like, or better value. Last year Malik was just about it, and his contract even made that tough.
Now the Spurs have Scola's rights, Rasho or Nazr but not both, maybe Beno, and Devin on a S & T.
It's been very quiet around the Spurs the last week. That makes me think something may be up.
Hmmmmmmmm.
Scola, Rasho or Nazr, Beno and Devin??
Heck no.
I'm not sure if that's one big trade or two small ones but that's too much to lose.
A question (sorry for my ignorance)
How usual is to make a deal with draft rights like Scola's ... Does it have a price? if so ... how much do you estaimated??
but our main duo will be manu-tim so oberto is actual better for team then scola
Now I could imagine a Rasho for Rahim S&T Deal. I am not saying that I would like it but that frontline would be scary: Timmy, Oberto, Nazr, Horry, Rahim
Plus they would still have the MLE for a free agent signing (a SF)... Its going to be interesting...
They have no cash value in trade if that's your question.
With respect to Argentinean team Manu said many times before Olympics etc., that Oberto was the key to win due to the defense. I do not know if Manu is right but that was what he said. Scola is more a scorer.
