They can still take Softridge![]()
Reports that the Morris twins, Tucker, and Goodwin were causing some off court drama. That was a while ago though.
They can still take Softridge![]()
If anything, the Bucks are dumb for trading MCW for Snell. They could have picked up RJ Hunter & traded MCW to the Kings for at least a 2nd rd pick.![]()
And guys have left there disgruntled too. Not placing too much of this in Goodwin. I mean who knows? But seeing how everything else blown up to , he's 22. Perspective.
They hired this en led prick:

thy have been getting lowballed much like the Sixers on Noel/Okafor..they have tipped their hand on him being on the block since mid last season.
I'd cut Simmons and sign Goodwin asap. tbh
Same here..Dude just turned 22..a buy-low move with an eye on 20018-2019 teams..Spurs got to take fliers on guys in this mold maybe someone will pan out.
He's going to be picked up off the waiver wire by the Kings.![]()
Just don't see PATFO doing that - not the "Spurs Way." They will keep Simmons for the time invested, corporate knowledge, etc... and the new guys because they are PATFO's guys. Who knows maybe Lapro or Forbes pans out.
The Suns were in discussions with multiple teams about Goodwin, so it's highly unlikely he'll clear waivers. Even in the unlikely event he does, he was griping about minutes a while back and there's no path to a rotation spot with the Spurs.
Foolish as it was, that's more than likely why the Suns waived him and kept Jenkins and Jones, who should just be happy to be in the league.
This is why the Barbosa signing was pointless. Chandler, Dudley and Tucker, would have sufficed for veteran leadership. Goodwin should have been the fourth guard instead of sixth.
Snell is more proven and even though he doesn't actually excel at either, is more of a 3 and D type than Hunter, who lacks the physical tools to ever add the latter.

26m The #Rockets have reversed course and will keep Tyler Ennis, waiving Pablo Prigioni instead: hoopsrumors.com/2016/10/rocket…
I thought he was going to make a roster. Good for him.
PM me your cell number. Rasual Butler wants to talk.![]()
Just one of those guys who doesn't do much except WIN. I hope he can carve out an NBA career for himself.
Touché. Not the usual Spurs Way...? SMH.
Kidding aside, I think we have to buy that Pop has been hopeful about him all this time. I remember Pop using the specific words "hopeful", plus they have given him uncharacteristic leash to make mistakes. I noticed that last season already with how much leash Pop gave him, whereas Anderson in contrast was: "one mistake you are out". I think the strict leash worked wonders for Anderson and helped him improve. Without that who knows how he would have turned out, he cannot afford to take his attention away from one second.
Anyways, they have been trying to deal with his "mental blocks" and other issues but appear to be hopeful all this time that maybe what he has is indeed mental. At some point, there is not going to be more assurances that they can give him, so either it's a mental thing or he's really not that talented. I think Pop wants to find out.
Hunter and Goodwin are too good to not be picked up through waivers. Too small of a chance of happening.
Weren't the Spurs reportedly high on Goodwin in his draft year?
Old boy won't make past waivers... even if they are still interested.
imo
I don't remember, but he went 29 in 2013 and that season Spurs drafted LJC at 28... sooo... ??
they were higher on LJC?
Just yanking your chain a little. I think it's pretty obvious that the Spurs see enough in Simmons to keep going with him. And we've seen plenty of times where the Spurs work hard to do right by guys - players, assistant coaches, and staff. I don't think there's any way the Spurs would dump Simmons for another project. I'm sure they would make him part of a trade for a clearly better player, but I don't think they would just dump him now that he's made the roster.
Yeah, I agree. PATFO will see the experiment through to the end - bitter or sweet. I cannot help rooting for a guy like Simmons - I am a sucker for underdogs. But last season I thought he'd make it; this season I hope he makes it - with an ever-diminishing hope.
