Been saying it all season long. This team isn't definitely fool's gold. Their record is inflated. Now that it's April in 2 weeks, we see the Spurs' true form. They'll get bounced in the first round.
spurs can't afford tp playing 25 minutes a game in the playoffs.
Despite them being unusually good against the best teams (and unusually bad against the worst teams . . . though to be fair, they had to lose to someone), nothing that's happened throughout the regular season has changed my big picture view of this team.
I'm paraphrasing, but like Ginobili said: This win was nice, but they're the same team that lost, at home, to the Trail Blazers a week ago. , the game before, they struggled to put away the Knicks, who were missing Anthony, no less. So let's not pretend that everything has changed because of one game.
Maybe they're more motivated against the best teams and "coasting" against the worst teams. Ever consider that?

I might have done it with the Cavaliers at some point, but the Rockets, Thunder (this season) and Clippers, were never legit contenders to begin with and even the Cavs were only fringe ones.
I had it figured out long before then. I said it on July 4th (when Durant signed): if healthy, no one is beating those arrogant pricks in a series. There is no other legit contender.
The team metrics don't indicate as much, but even if they are, like I said in another thread, they weren't incremental improvement away from winning a championship. They were a prime Parker and that was before Durant signed with the Warriors and Aldridge fell off a cliff.

We all know the Warriors are the favorite and it would be a huge choke job if they don't win it all this year. Check out my false expectations thread...
But with that said you've created threads saying they're done in December and even in this thread said they aren't contenders etc etc..
I'm not a blind/cliche fan. If the Spurs aren't good enough I'll admit it..but I don't jump off cliffs in December or after every disappointing loss
Translation: If by some miracle they were to beat a healthy Warriors team, you get to play holier than thou, pretend to have believed the entire time and been a "real fan" and if they lose, you still get to play holier than thou because you can just regurgitate this. This is what I mean by having no problem criticizing, but being unwilling to give credit when it's due.
For the umpteenth time, I'm not predicting they won't win the championship, I'm saying they can't (again, without at least being aided by a significant injury to the Warriors). There's a difference.

Still rooting for them to turn the tables in the series--though I don't see it-- but I just hope the ugly nature of this potential exit can convince PATFO to blow this up..
Everyone but Kawhi is available for the right price-- even slightly below it for Aldridge.
