A regurgitated cliche.![]()
Kawhi will Win one, if he doesnt win one this year and proccedds to play fantastic in the playoffs voters are going to be inclined tp vote for him next year and the years following.
There isn't a player right now in the Horizon that's looking like they're going to compete fofr MVP honours for years to come except for him. Harden and Westbrook narrative will die down..and no one else has the right combination of team wins-Star power- than Kawhi for the following years.
Lebron sure...but you get the feeling people are tired of voting for Lebron 2015 is probably the perfect example. Unreal how didnt get that much hype that year. +20 in wins too. Turned a non-playoff team into a contender.
But it is what it is.
A regurgitated cliche.![]()
It's a fact.
What makes Harden the MVP? Breaking his own record for most turnovers in a season with 15 games left?
See I can use one stat as my argument too, dumbjohn.

Dude, why don't you watch a game for a change? No, Kawhi isn't asked/allowed to be the kind of ballhog that guys like Harden and Westbrook are. For the most part, the Spurs play a motion offense where everybody gets relatively equal chances (according to their talents) at getting pts and assists. You will never see a Spur get eye popping scoring or assisting numbers, but that doesn't mean Kawhi isn't right now the number one playmaker on the Spurs (specially since the year started).
I'll give you that on that aspect he's still not on the elite level of other players, but he's been improving dramatically and is, as I already said, the number one playmaker on the team. So, not only he has to be the best scorer and the best defender, he also has to be the number one guy setting up folks out there. I don't know how much more burden do you want.
Cue in "b...but he doesn't score or assists on more than half of his team's pts
"
Well, no the Spurs aren't doing that, they actually have aspirations of winning the championship.
Leading team in Scoring, Rebounding, and Assists. (Leads league in assists as well)...Think about that. Only one other player on the team who averages above 7 rebounds per game. 29 games of scoring or assisting on 50% or more of his teams points. 16 triple doubles. Four 40 point triple doubles. All while playing EVERY game and heavy minutes.,
If that's your argument then let's give it to Westbrook who does all that but at much more impressive rates, tbh.
harden is shooting 36.7% on all shots that aren't layups or dunks... maybe he should start settling for assisted shots. kawhi at 44.8%
harden's usage at 34.2 compared to kawhi's 31.3. yeah, that makes up for their defensive discrepancy
You forgot the part where he doesn't show up on defense.
He's also shooting under 40% since like the start of February IIRC. Meanwhile Kawhi is averaging 30 PPG on damn near 50/40/90 in 2017.
but but the system and Harden's burden![]()
11.2 assists per game isn't ballhogging. And you made my point for me. The Spurs play in a system that emphasizes ball movement. Harden has to involve everyone himself. Have you seen Beverley try and initiate the offense? That is cringeworthy.
have you seen parker initiate an offense?
What is his percentage on the year? Pretty sure since the start of February is included in season averages![]()
Kawhi is also assisted more on 2pt shots. And you distorted the 36.7% since he doesn't take many 2pt shots outside of layups. And is shooting a decent 35% from 3.
The re ed, outdated "high assists totals isn't ballhogging" comment.
Dude if you have the ball on your hands for 99% of the possession, in the majority of the possessions of your team in a game, you are ball hogging. It doesn't matter if you end the possession with a shot or an assist, tbh.
I'll give you that Harden isn't as bad as Westbrook in that regard though.
44% which isn't as atrocious as under 40% but still pretty damn bad. Point is, your guy is faltering as the stakes are getting bigger. Meanwhile, Kawhichael Jordan is elevating his play.
A ballhog is defined as one who doesn't pass the ball.

44% for a shooting guard is right around average actually, which is 45%.
Outdated, re ed definition, tbh.
Who is more of a ball hog in your opinion:
-A player that catches and shoots it on every possession of his team.
-Or a player that controls the ball on every possession of his team and only passes it at the end of plays to get an assist?
You don't get to be MVP by shooting below average, faltering as the stakes get higher, playing no defense, and breaking turnover records. Take your homer glasses off, dummy.
Ball hogs don't pass at all. Btw, never said Kawhi was one.
Wow 1 percent below average, which is pretty much at average
No, you get MVP when your team can't score without you. When you have to lead in points rebounds AND assists. When you average close to a triple double all season while winning. All while not taking ganes off for rest. Homer glasses my ass. NBA voters already know. It ain't Kawhi's.
