How to ask a girl out?

Damn, you guys are mean to poor usckk. Don't listen to them! Just be confident, and ask the girl out to a movie or dinner or something. Life is too short to waste so much time worrying about something like this. What's the worst that can happen? She'll say no? Well then, it just wasn't meant to be and you move on. If she says yes? Well, then you'll be kicking yourself in the ass for wasting so much time worrying about it and trying to figure out the "best way" to ask her out.

Every guy has their own style of asking a girl out. I've noticed this (BTW, I'm female ). Some guys are all straightforward, others try and get to know you a little, others try to get their friends to ask around about you, etc. I personally prefer the straightforward way. No games, no hesitation, just ask.

And if I don't like you, the worst I'll say is...."Sorry, I'm seeing someone else" ( even if I'm not at the time, that's my standard turn down).

Well, not necessarily during the activity. What I'm trying to say is, if she already agreed to go somewhere with you, it means that she is somewhat interested in you.
Then you could ask her, but I'm not saying it has to be during the activity. Whatever seems right at the momment. If she says yes, congrats, and if she says no, then move on and keep your head up.

You need to set yourself a deadline- in the next few days- and just ask her out.

You can have a day or so to prepare if you must. But seems to me all you are doing is making yourself nervous and possible postponing an actual date.

I'd say you're overthinking it. Trying to gather something from her tone when she says hi is just going to kill you, when there's probably no reason for it. We always think of the worst possible reaction that we'll get (which is not really possible). More than likely, she'll be flattered - whether or not she's interested - and let you down easy, or feel the same way. You're not going to get absolutely embarrassed. The worst possible scenario is not going to happen.
