I guess Tony has concerns on getting any minutes. White is poised and ready.
Was it Brimah that laid that guy out with a pick?
Sign him to a two way already
Yeah. That was him. Looked much more like he knew what he was doing than when he started in Austin. Metu's pnr work looked like he could actually make the main team. Walker has to pick up another NBA level skill to get out of Austin. White is ready.
Agreed. Dude ccouldn't stop fouling tho..
Yeah. I liked what he was doing out there alot. Dude is solid. Does he have range?
just watched spurs jazz game.
White is a baller, can score, pass, shoot.... deserve to play mooore next year
I'm ok with Walker, active, some shoots not falling, will need to make good choices but overall i'm ok with him
Inside Eubanks or Brimah didn't look bad but i don't know if they could make the roster.
Watching now. Not impressed with White. I mean, I'm not worried either, since it's the first game. But I was hoping he'd look more like Anderson and less like Forbes. People underestimate how good Kyle was that year. He was literally unguardable and was canning threes at a high rate. Really sucks that they couldn't get that guy consistently.
Anyways, Walker's gonna need some coaching. We knew that, but as it is right now, he doesn't deserve minutes. To put it into perspective, I was critical of Murray's first SL game, but he was way better than Lonnie was. Best part about Walker is that he was aggressive in taking shots. He was too aggressive, but that's not an issue in the summer league. He can work on that shot-selection starting next summer, because he'll have the green light in Austin. If anything, I was annoyed that Hardy ran three guards, including two PGs, to start the game. White should be the primary ball-handler, and Walker should get the nod as the second. They'll be plenty of time for those guys to be off the ball in training camp and pre-season. A scrub named after a city shouldn't factor in here.
Blossom has been forgettable so far, and that sucks for him. He really needed to develop a defensive skill-set that would give him a real niche in the NBA. Dude needs to be the designated stopper going forward. I liked Putney as well. Dude has legit size, length and explosiveness. But he's seriously almost as old as I am. If he were even five years younger, I'd be excited. Now, um, maybe he can get a two-way deal? Spurs sure don't need to around with guards again.
I liked that Metu was handling the ball at points during the first half. It didn't really work, but beating guys on a faceup from behind the arc was never going to be his thing. He was aggressive in trying to protect the glass, though that didn't really work for him. Hope he can get chemistry with the guards, because his success as a roll-man will determine if he'll be able to hold a top-15 spot. Brimah looked Brimish: he blocked some shots, dunked whenever he could, and boarded well. But his general ability as a rim-protector -- as in not just as a shot-blocker -- has left something to be desired. Thought he got caught in no man's land too much on PnR defense and he got beat to the rim other times. Not expecting much. Eubanks was better in that regard, though he as a bit too jumpy. I love the Walker pick, but damn it would be nice to have a legit big prospect in the system.
I'm interested in seeing how the roster gels. The le-winning squad from a few years ago had a rough going in Utah as well. They had a better "star" on that team and got a second once Jon join for Vegas. The team was also better constructed, with rolling, defensive-minded bigs, wings that could shoot and pesky guard defenders. This squad doesn't even have a big as good as Ndoye. However, they can still take advantage of what they do have, which is a dynamic back court and bigs who are legit lob threats. On that note, I hope we see Hamilton play soon. I'm very curious to see how he looks against NBA athletes. He seemed worryingly slow in college, but he showed some interesting skills. And while I'm not nearly as bullish on Hanlan as I was last year, they need to cut the chord on Ledbetter and Perrantes. Neither guy will never be on the team, but at least they can sign with other clubs. Give Olivier a chance and them let him go.
Tried to warn you idiots about Walker....
He's as inefficient as one can be.
Is Fathead in the roster? I might watch if he is, tbh... Summer League Fathead is like November Parker...
You also said White sucks when he was drafted lol![]()
Davis Bertans was a second round pick.... But anyways I agree on Metu. He looked like a player.
I just watched the same game and couldn't agree more...![]()
Thanks for the review.
Agree that it will be interesting to see how they gel and "grow". Right now White is the only player that looks like he deserves rotation minutes but this is just the beginning. Last season they also had a poor start in Utah. I actually expected more from last season's team since they had Bertans.
This team has a couple of athletic bigs that are indeed lob threats and that wasn't available in the other teams. Will be interesting to watch the chemistry going forward.

Yep don’t judge Walker an 18th draft pick. Just look at Trae Young first game first half 0 for 6 two shots not even hitting rim and he was drafted as a shooter and was first round 5th pick! I am sure his team is not calling and looking to trade him. Lol
Trae's shot selection was terrible.
Pop if White isn't a rotation player this season. Besides, is not like he's a young prospect, what is he now, 24?
You guys gotta relax about White. He'll play.
Over who? Murray, Mills, Belli, Manu, Tony, Green? I would play him over any of them, but I doubt Pop will.
Great. Don't relax then.
Are you really sure? Have you checked the message boards for his team. All the posters are happy? I doubt it.
