Spurs need to make a decision this off season. They traded their best asset for a win-now player. They need to go all-in to win now then.

If they aren’t willing to do that then why did you trade for DeRozan? But what’s done is done & even if they don’t want to go all in they need to admit their mistake and blow it up. Can’t have another season like this in the middle.
They have to admit the bad Demar assessment as a player and his current psychological condition and proceed to tank. Can't go the delusional route because anything else will be just that.

Tell me the trade that turns this around - there are too many holes at the moment. This team will likely be the 7-8th seed regardless with a quick exit. The Nephew trashed this season plain and simple. Last season too.

    You could mortgage your future
like the Mavericks did. They may not have any ones for the next 3-4 years. They have to sign a guy with a blown out knee to a MAX contract this summer. Brilliant. Mark Cuban and his organization always try to take a short cut and overplay their hand.

That was secretly a low key bad deal for the Mavs. They risked a ton for a 7'3 center that blew out his ACL. Two firsts plus trading a player who was taken in the top 10 in the 2017 draft. That doesn't even mention that they are giving up the 11th pick (currently to ATL this year) New York fleeced them tbh.

Does anyone REALLY think the Spurs were delighted to jettison Nephew for what they got in return. It was the best crummy deal they could get unfortunately.

I just want to see players who aren't just going through the motions. There are guys who want to compete and win on the roster, but there are too many square pegs trying to fit into round holes.

I would prefer to see the team get in the lottery at this point. The product being put out there now is not very good.

I'm beginning to think Derrick White is pretty dag gum good. I hope he and Dejonte can co-exist next year. The uncontested threes will come to an end, which will be a good thing.

True. I get why Pop didn't want to engage with the lakers but i don't understand how you do that trade after how awful Derozan and Jakob were in the playoffs. I would have demanded Siakam be included in the trade.
If you trade a superstar you must always get the top young prospect back or you failed...

True im with you on that, I think the reason spurs didn’t make a move is they really think Murray will be a star. Derrick has been damn good probably been my fav player this season

You'll seem to be only bashing your supposedly team, we are doing the best we can with what we have, where's your loyalty "bout blow it up" steupesss that have never been the Spurs way look back at our history 1 thing is missing I would agree is the lack of defense, playoffs is this imminent and mainly because of coach pop, 22 seasons of making the playoffs is on the line.

Nah. SA has first round picks no contract over 2 years and lots of young talent.
Lots of young talent? White and Murray look promising but need to stay healthy Walker is unknown outside of the athleticism

All I asked was for PATFO to make an effort in improving the team. LMA isn't 24, he's about to be 34 and that isn't the NEW 24 in the NBA. We should've maximized what will likely be LMA's last All-Star season. Instead, they've left him to rot with a deeply flawed team around him to say the least.
So the team is deeply flawed yet a move is necessary in your view. There are too many fundamental issues with this team to "improve" it in one specific deal. A significant deal will probably involve dealing future #1 picks. I don't thinks this team is one move away from being a real contender. Not even two moves. It would be like moving deck chairs on the anic.

Who cares about the playoffs if we’re just gonna get smoked in the 1st round? Sorry some of us prefer a higher draft pick (something PATFO is still competent at handling).

So you're just going to waste away a 34 year old Aldridge in what will likely be the most he'll have left on his tank?

    Pretty much.

They knew they only had at most 2 more seasons with Aldridge and DeRozan, maybe just 1.

So instead of improving the roster by dumping Untouchables like Pau with their assets like Milutinov and the 2 first round picks this summer who would be in Austin all next season getting over themselves anyway ....

    They did nothing

And now they have Pau getting 5 minutes against one of the bigger NBA teams.

But they won't admit their mistake.

They'll trudge along next year with more guys like Cunningham.

Nephew purposely trashed on his own trade value ("LA or nothing") to torpedo the Spurs as an organization. SA may have gotten a better deal without the selfish demands of "the Group".....

I'll ask you again. What is the deal that turns this around? Please enlighten me. The Nephew quitting sealed this deal. Period. LMA is a good player, but SA needs a fundamental reboot right now. LMA may have to move on as well as DeRozan.

Ya. White looks great. Murray to. Lonnie has plenty of potential. Forbes and Bertans are elite shooters. Plenty of young talent.

Can't trade Kawhi without Siakm or AR least onouby coming back. Poetl is okay but if you get Siakm in Spurs system it's not equal but at least 75 cents on the dollar

People, what happened to realism? You think there was a team out there that was willing to give us top prospects or top lvl talent for a guy who along with his group made clear that he wants out no matter what and only wants to go to LA and nowhere else coming of an "injury" and sitting out almost the entire season? I am 100% certain that the Derozan, Poetl, pick, deal was the best one available.
