They playing for a SL championship or something? He hasn't had a chance to practice with the group, therefore his status is TBD and costing more time to practice with said group.
Brilliant.
That’s great news. I’m so stoked to see our rookies play![]()
Thats so Ridiculous it’s the freaking summer league, go out and play lol
Yup it’s not like the plays would be highly complicated, and the kid’s 19![]()
Jesus, if the Spurs actually executed good plays the SL would be toast. It's just a glorified srimmage.
Going to check out some of the Thunder game tonight to see Chet, Jalen, and Dieng. Also, Poku is still on the Summer League team lol.
Give Poku a break. Emus generally don't play basketball.
Poku has been SO BAD that he may be playing for his NBA career and his year 4 option this fall.
Anywhere other than NBATV to watch games 1&2?
Less bad last year, if only because they didn't let him fling quite as many disastrous 'shots' from three. He's been bad.
i remember when ST posters were lamenting the spurs passing on poku. good times.
Yet these people are usually the loudest about who the Spurs should draft
It's pretty astonishing to look at Presti's picks since 2007-2009 when he nailed the Durant/Westbrook/Harden picks, even if they were all top 4.
Draft year League Round Pick Player College/High School/Club
2021 NBA 1 6 Josh Giddey Adelaide 36ers (Australia) (Good pick)
2021 NBA 1 16 Alperen Şengün Beşiktaş (Turkey) (Probably a good pick, traded immediately)
2021 NBA 1 18 Tre Mann Florida (Decent pick so far)
2021 NBA 2 34 Rokas Jokubaitis Žalgiris Kaunas (Lithuania)
2021 NBA 2 36 Miles McBride West Virginia
2021 NBA 2 55 Aaron Wiggins Maryland
2020 NBA 1 25 Immanuel Quickley Kentucky (Good pick, traded immediately)
2020 NBA 2 53 Cassius Winston Michigan State
2019 NBA 1 21 Brandon Clarke Gonzaga (Great pick, traded immediately)
2018 NBA 2 53 Devon Hall Virginia
2018 NBA 2 57 Kevin Hervey Texas Arlington
2017 NBA 1 21 Terrance Ferguson Adelaide 36ers (Australia)
2015 NBA 1 14 Cameron Payne Murray State (Pretty good pick, traded after two years)
2015 NBA 2 48 Dakari Johnson Kentucky
2014 NBA 1 21 Mitch McGary Michigan
2014 NBA 1 29 Josh Huestis Stanford
2013 NBA 1 12 Steven Adams Pittsburgh (Great pick)
2013 NBA 1 29 Archie Goodwin Kentucky
2013 NBA 2 32 Álex Abrines FC Barcelona (Spain)
2012 NBA 1 28 Perry Jones Baylor
2011 NBA 1 24 Reggie Jackson Boston College (Good pick, traded after four years)
2010 NBA 1 18 Eric Bledsoe Kentucky (Good pick, traded immediately to Clippers)
2010 NBA 1 21 Craig Brackins Iowa State
2010 NBA 1 26 Quincy Pondexter Washington
2010 NBA 2 51 Magnum Rolle Louisiana
I haven't dove into who he could have selected with these picks or what he received in these trades, and granted many of these are 2nd rounders, but goddamn that's a lot of blown calls. And often when he drafted a good player he got rid of them immediately.
To get Pokusevski, OKC traded off Ricky Rubio and the draft rights to Jaden McDaniel and Immanuel Quickley. Received James Johnson, recently cut by Brooklyn, and a 2nd rounder.
presti passed on john collins, anunoby and kuzma in 2017 and rodney hood, capela and bogdanovic in 2014
Actually players picked and traded immediately are probably choices of the other team, we would not be sure of who he will pick if it's not traded.
Spurs talk keep Presti on that pedal stoolwe’ve done more with less but of course his mentors ( Patfo ) don’t know anything!
Jovic looked good today and his schnoz ain't that big.
Definitely. It's actually evidence AGAINST Presti that others saw value where he didn't. His negotiating skills are OFF THE CHARTS, but he's overrated as a talent evaluator.
Jovic is a talented guy, he needs to improve as a shooter. If he does, he'll be good.
Durant at 2 is no merit, there was no chance anyone with a couple working neurons would screw that up. Westbrook and Harden (especially) were better picks than most would have thought, though. Credit where it's due. However, when looking at how many picks he had and how many he fumbled, he doesn't seem quite like the drafting wizard he's been made out to be. To be any good, you have to consistently beat consensus picks, otherwise just fire your entire scouting department and use ESPN mocks.
Yeah he bounced back and had a nice game - 25 PTS and 9 REB
Jake Laravia is playing pretty well right now. I’m super intrigued by the OKC game later, watch Ousmane Dieng look like a god out there lol
