Absolute monster game from Vic. Spurs really need to upgrade this roster. There won’t be many games like this next season where he’s not getting double and triple teamed
I was at the Brooklyn game back in Feb and I remember Claxton humiliating Wemby multiple times, so it’s nice to see Wemby have a mini revenge game.

When asked after the game if the Spurs would play in Austin next year, Pop responded "God I hope not"
Wemby was pretty good in the second half imho
But if pop holding him to 28 minutes per game in the future. He's going to have a hard time winning multiple MVP's
Pop’s joking I’m sure. I think they’ll play more outside of San Antonio as far out to New Mexico
Man I think Wemby easily wins DPOY with a better record, multiple times including MVP’s
That cushy 500M practice complex must be super nice
Damn that’s dark![]()
I wouldn’t mind bringing Schroeder and Bridges in exchange for future picks FRP’s, help expedite Spurs rebuild, likewise help Nets on theirs, draft a PG as PG-in-training, another wing and defensive C in that order.
I think he meant Tombouctou in ref to his previous answer.
Two areas that Victor really needs to improve are his grip on the ball/overall aressivity on the boards and setting himself closer to the rim when calling the ball on the post, he should eat hours of TD doing it.
Like a seasons worth of highlights in one game. He’s unbelievable.
Wtf… you know that Wemby is not built like Duncan, his strong low center gravity to pound his defender. Wemby’s 7’4, 100 lbs. Wemby needs to put in a lot of muscle to mimic Duncan’s post moves. That would take years of slowly bulking up. It took Giannis 5-7 pounds every year to get there. Timmy 6’11 and 7’5 wingspan allowed him to dribble low while using his big body and strong wide stance to move his defender. I doubt Wemby does that anytime soon. Try The Dream shake with Wemby’s ball handling.

Think I gave up on all hope of landing Bridges once I saw Houston offer Brooklyn their picks back for him.
I don't think he'll be held to those minutes in the future.
Victor doesn't need to put on a lot of weight. He needs to remain healthy and mobile. His quickness and speed is important. Kareem was never bulky and did just fine I think.
Agree. I think the goal for the rest of the season is to help get Wemby his ROY, while continue auditioning which players get to stay.
Tim always did his work early then became an immoveable base with the defender boxed out. Victor uses spin moves. The Spurs will probably not go to a post up game, but keep Victor in motion more than Tim was. Two completely different body and play styles. If Tim had Victors stroke he'd have averaged 30 a game.
Once he hits 65 games I'd think it's a lock.
I liked the closing lineup that pop stuck with through the end of the 4th and the fact that he didn't change it for overtime either! Progress!
There is no evidence that this happened.
Nah, I agree. I was contrasting Timmy vs Wemby, different styles completely. Yes, Kareem’s sky hooks also helped, which is also not bad to pattern some of Wemby’s shots. I remember Magic was unstoppable using his version of sky hook, add some up and under, dream shakes, damn.
I’m not saying he should bulk up or model his game to TD but look at his work in setting himself up as early as possible. It doesn’t require huge strength to keep the positon
Right now he’s asking it way too close to the 3pt line and it makes his job more difficult.
