Vassell intentionally tanking his value right before the trade deadline is actually pretty smart on his end tbh. He clearly wants to remain a Spur.
He sucked that much not to be in the final defensive play? I missed the game watched the Royal Rumble![]()

Spurs put up a damn good fight without Wemby - Bam made a great shot
I'm going to miss Devin Vassell the way we all missed Richard Jefferson
Yeah, Sochan was playing like a G Leaguer on both ends tonight
As much as I’ve enjoyed CP3 on this team, he’s cooled off from his unconscious start to the season. He looked like Reggie Miller for a bit and I think that helped carry this anemic offense to a few victories they had no business winning
There was just a defensive play, it's the only time Sochan should be on the floor ffs
Mitch you're a moron
He was a top 30 player by EPM at the end of december, he is certainly not now
Yeah, the only reason I even wanted to hold on to him was because he was a floor spacer.
If he's not that, get rid of him already. His drives are hunky dunky bull and the mid range game is dead. If the coaches were smart they'd run him off screens for 2s but instead he's living the dream as Kobe-lite, only he ain't got any of his skills.
I mean at his age, that was expected. Again if Assell wasn’t such a loser player, he would have been carrying the load. Not having to rely on CP3 for everything.
The RRT is going to be brutal.
nah...Nobody predicted vassell and sochan would be this bad.
Even if he kept making his 3s we need to move on from him.
We need a PG that can penetrate and attack the rim, put some speed on the transitions etc
They tried their best and that's all that matters. We're gonna keep being patient with them.
Maybe a bit but he's being asked to do way more than he should be at 40 years old tbh. He was brought in for more of a leadership role than anything. The onus should be on our young guys to carry the load, but he often finds himself having to try and be our 2nd our 3rd best player on any given night cause Devin and the gang keep ting the bed.
They have some easy games against Charlotte, Wash, Atlanta
Winning 2-3 games in an entire month of NBA basketball is what I personally consider brutal, but you're free to disagree.
I'm talking about the 6 game rodeo trip. They can split the 6 games on the rodeo trip.
None of the Spurs consider Austin home games, dude.
Without Wemby it's still a bottom five team in the league.
I consider them home games. Crowd might even be louder than in San Antonio.
It's only a one hour bus ride.
The motivational video Pop has been making our team watch
RTT will likely snuff out their play-in chances. Can't go 0-4 against the awfully mediocre Chicago/Miami teams and hope to make it up in the brutal West. Add to that a couple of dumb losses (home against Jazz) and (struggling, Embid-less Philly) and that's the Spurs undoing in the end assuming no big move at the deadline..
I sometimes feel bad nitpicking on Wemby. This is still easily a bottom 5 roster in the league without him. If by advanced metrics, your second most impactful player is a 40-yo PG, you have no business contending for the play-in. Basically we needed Wemby to maintain his Mid-November-late December MVP-caliber heater to stay in the hunt, which was definitely unsustainable at this stage.
