omg you guys are just making yourselves look ignorant by continuing to whine about the officiating....don't you think if the NBA was fixed we would know about it by now? Hence, the 1919 world series.
Dont be fooled into thinking the refs made mistakes. They knew what they were doing. These PROFESSIONAL officials are completely capable of calling a fair game, they CHOSE not to do so today and tuesday, and they CHOOSE not to do so quite often. The reason? Obviously the NBA brass (ie Stern) lets the refs continue to completely screw up with no reprocussion, so the call must come from the NBA office on who gets screwed and when. If it was legitimate, the league office would FIRE these refs that continue to screw up horribly in so many games. The NBA is all about ENTERTAINMENT, not basketball. And the fact is that the Mavs (with the AJ story) is a far better story for ENTERTAINMENT than the Spurs. So therefore the Spurs get hammered by the refs. This isnt the first time, the Spurs have had to battle the refs for all 3 of the championships, but it was always small and subtle before. This is the first time I can recall where it is SO OBVIOUS and BLATANT.
Dont ever think that Stern cares about basketball and integrity. All he cares about is MONEY and it shows in the games. When you go to an NBA game, what do you see? You see acrobats, clowns, kids chasing money around, a coyote, etc. This isnt about basketball anymore. Stern only wants ENTERTAINMENT, and that is when games start to get fixed (just like the WWE - World Wrestling ENTERTAINMENT). The truth is the Spurs dont sell ENTERTAINMENT to a wide market like other teams because fans have been conditioned to only want ENTERTAINMENT and not good basketball. Because Stern has gone away from promoting the GAME of basketball the GAME becomes secondary to ENTERTAINMENT. And it will continue to get worse until either the fans or some third party in power (i.e. Congress) puts a stop to it.
I for one think the officiating in the NBA is just plain incompetant, and i also think you're an idiot.

That is the biggest load of Bull i have ever heard...if the NBA were actually trying to "fix" this series then they would want the Spurs and the Pistons to rematch in the finals. I cant comprehend how you could actually believe this load of crap.
One just needs to watch a replay of the 4th quarter and also game 2.

Ok ... sorry .. I left out game 1, but I also left out games 5 and 6. So here it is again -- all 6 games of the 2003 playoff series.
Game 1: Mavs 50 Spurs 48
Game 2: Spurs 45 Mavs 22
Game 3: Spurs 26 Mavs 6
Game 4: Spurs 31 Mavs 13
Game 5: Spurs 38 Mavs 23
Game 6: Spurs 21 Mavs 11
So..... it's a big deal to you and everyone else here that the Mavs got 2 more free throws than the Spurs in game 1???
What about the next 5 games when the Spurs basically got DOUBLE or more free throws than the Mavericks in each of those playoff games!?!?!??? Even though Game 5 wasn't double, It still was much more than what the Mavs had.

How much proof do you need? There is plenty of proof. Go back and look at how much these refs (who have been in the NBA for YEARS) have called completely one sided games over the years (especially in the Stern era). They continuously screw up yet are not terminated or even suspended for their horrible work. Any legitimate en y would get rid of poor performers, and yet the NBA PROMOTES them. Why are they PROMOTED to the le of head official? When they continue to screw up? It's obvious - just open your damn eyes. You people are lazy sheep who have been conditioned to take whatever bull gets thrown to you. Think for yourself and look at the evidence.

I understand your frustration and I share it but its only Game 3. The Spurs are far from out of this.

actually ive been a mavs fan for years, and during the 2003 season when we played the spurs in the western finals i watched all 82 games.
If you don't like it Mavs troll you can go back to Mavstalk or whatever lame message board you came from.
