    Whatever you say furry.

Joel gave his team a chance to win a lot of games with his rebounding and shot blocking. Our front court right now consists of TD, Matt Bonner, and 86 year old Robert Horry. Wake the up, we need some talent inside that can play ball, and Joel can.

Find me another big man for 5 mil a year and we can talk. And at the low basketball IQ talk. How many times have you seen Joel play? He has consistently given the Spurs difficulty the past two years when they played, are you telling me that the Spurs can't handle a dumb player at the defensive end now?

Yes but the spurs need a big defensive stopper (Like Robinson)that warrants respect. Is Pryzbilla the answer? He does not have the quickness (footwork) or hops to be intimidating. I see players driving right past him. So his effectiveness will be nullified and he won't be an intimidator.

Robinson would rotate off his man and force the penetrator back outside. Robinson was an intimidator and defensive force.

Quickness is important for intimidation not only size.

getting ben wallace is a pipe dream

I suspect that with Wallace leaving Joel is a near lock to head to the Pistons.

Seattle? I don't consider bringing Manu off the bench that great of an adjustment.

What did he do against Detroit to adjust?

I want x's and o's here, not gimmick roster subs utions.

Putting Bowen on Billups because he was torching the out of Parker doesn't exactly put a coach in the John Wooden class, either, especially when it leads to pulling all your bigs and then trying to plug Bowen into all the holes that suddenly spring open the following year.

I'm starting to believe that the Spurs might have to start looking at trades to fill the C spot.

    http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/featu...2=stateChanged

Wasn't a center involved in that trade? Spurs are only team listed.

    Hornets Ready To Deal J.R.?
Jul 3 - According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune it appears more than likely that J.R. Smith will be traded. His father, Earl, told the newspaper Sunday that Smith will not participate on the Hornets' summer league team in Las Vegas because he believes a trade is possibly in the works.
"If a trade happens, it happens," Earl Smith said. "It doesn't matter to us really, but he's not playing in summer league. Why play if he's going to be traded?"

At 9 p.m. Portland time, Joel Przybilla will have a tele-conference with his agent, Bill Duffy, regarding an offer from the Detroit Pistons.

This comes after former Detroit center Ben Wallace agreed in principle to a free agent contract with the Chicago Bulls. The Pistons immediately made contact with Duffy regarding Przybilla, and apparently Przybilla will strongly consider the offer from the Pistons.

Reached at about 8 p.m. Portland time, Duffy said he expects Przybilla to make his decision by Tuesday morning after spending a night mulling over Detroit's offer.

Bottom line: It doesn't look good for Portland.

Both Portland and Detroit can offer the mid-level exception (about $5.3 million a year), and actually Portland can offer a little more with yearly raises, but the lure of being an instant winner with the Pistons appears to be very powerful with Przybilla.

Kevin Pritchard, the Blazers director of player personnel, just spent two days in Milwaukee with Przybilla. Pritchard on Monday night said the talks with Przybilla were at times emotional, and he understands the dilemma facing Przybilla. Other than that, Pritchard declined comment.

This is all very speculative right now - I will have more hopefully after Duffy and Przybilla talk tonight - but again, this doesn't look good for the Blazers. If I were a betting man, I would put my money on Detroit landing Przybilla.

I will update as soon as possible.

Makes perfect sense. I am sure Detroit wants Joel ater they lost Wallace. I am curious, though, about what the Spurs have been doing. Other teams have guys traveling all over- maybe Pop is secretly somewhere like he was in Slovenija 3 years ago.

If the Spurs have backed off Joel, then that means either a trade is coming down the pipes or they are re-signing Nazr for a reasonable amount.
