ONCE again joe johnson is exposed as the overrated player he is
WOAI was reporting tonight that Manu's 24 consecutive points are a Spurs franchise record (Gervin had it previously with 23 straight, apparently in his 63 point masterpiece in 1978). They were unsure about what the NBA record was, but thought it was possible that Manu could have set that record as well.

30/5/4?
and me
BTW, is the reigning 3pt-shooter Jason Kapono a lefty?
Manu is the alpha and the omega. He is the schizney! He is Manuficent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By the way Manu doesn't want to be known as a sixth man. I remember two years ago when someone asked him about winning the award he said that he'd rather be known as an energy guy that helped his team win but not a sixth man of the yearwhoa, that's nice Spurschick
6th-man!, 6th man!![]()
This says that MJ had set a record for the most consecutive points in a row at 23 points. And guess who he ended up torchering tooWOAI was reporting tonight that Manu's 24 consecutive points are a Spurs franchise record (Gervin had it previously with 23 straight, apparently in his 63 point masterpiece in 1978). He poured in 58 points against the New Jersey Nets on February 26, then toasted the Atlanta Hawks for 61 on April 16 in a game in which he sank an NBA-record 23 points in a row.

oh wow, haha. Heh, I wonder when Pop put him in. Did he only start late in the first quarter or something? I wonder if starting late, made him angryyy..
I saw the highlights on ESPN. He kind of went all out, making the circus shots and getting to the line 15 times.
apparently this is his third career 40 point game. What was the other one besides the 48 one?
Even the most ego-less of guys have their boundaries. Heh.
OMG, I just saw Manu's highlights, he created the plays for MOST of his points and from the highlights, sick baskets
damn
He came in at the 6:46 mark. I think he missed only twice in that stretch.
i don't know about a third 40-pt game. i think the only one close was his 39 pts vs Seattle in Game 5 of 05 Playoffs
He scored 40 pts against the Clippers in a 2OT game
oh ya! also in 05 right? i think he and tony scored over 40 that game.
The game was tied 15-15 when Manu scored that driving, 1-handed floater that went as high as the top of the backboard before nestling into the basket with 2:27 remaining in the 1st quarter. Manu then outscored the Hawks 24-8 over the course of the next 4:47 and the Spurs led 39-23 at the 9:40 mark of the 2nd quarter.
Incredible. 24 points in less than 5 minutes.

Little known Manu fact: Manu Ginobili swept the riding compe ions at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. Manu was disqualified from one compe ion when the bull that was riding Manu was bucked off.
The sticker Dwight Howard stuck on the backboard during the slam dunk contest said: All things are possible through Manu. Ginobili 20:20.
Manu Ginobili will be honored at Sunday's Oscars with a lifetime achievement award despite the fact he has never appeared in a feature film.
Today, Judge Larry Seidlin ruled that Manu Ginobili should be granted the final decision on all matters of custody with Anna Nicole Smith's case.
I like how the thread theme is keeping up with the topical!
Mel Kazmarin announced today that, should the merger of Sirius and XM satellite radios be allowed to proceed, the new company would be named Manurius.
In keeping with the theme of England Prime Minister Tony Blair's announcement that his country would begin pulling troops out of Iraq, Manu Ginobili announced following tonight's game against Atlanta that he would begin pulling out of the Hawks.
- Manu was visibly upset to learn that Nike's new commercial campaign en led "The Second Coming" was not about his nightly sexual conquests.
- Manu was visibly upset to learn that Jack McCallum's newest book, ":07 Seconds Or Less," was not about how long it takes for him to defeat the Atlanta Hawks.
NASCAR docked Manu Ginobili 100 points in the Nextel Cup standings when it was determined his water bottle contained jet fuel.
Tony had 27. They each had nine assists though, many, I suspect, to each other since our 3rd leading scorer that night was Horry with 15. (Tim was out with an ankle injury).

Parker *did* have 35 the next night at Oakland in another 2OT win, which was all the more impressive because both Tim AND Manu were out.
Wow, back to back.
Wasn't there an OT 2003 game when Manu went all out on the Lakers when Tony and Tim were out or something?
