I also wasn't in town during the 1985 "snow". I've never seen snow in San Antonio.
And never will.
So Manny, by your rainbow drawings, it will not be snowing at 6am? But it probably will be at 6pm? What about in between? When should I sleep? I don't want to miss it![]()

I WAS SICK AS PISS AND MY PARENTS WOULDN'T LET ME OUT THAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAMN YOU MOM AND DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just kidding about the whole damning part, BUT I WAS SICK AS PISS AND MY PARENTS WOULDN'T LET ME OUT THAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
6pm tomorrow is more likely. The next model runs will be out within an hour I believe, so I'll check then.
Its just a model prediction, so we'll see. But I do think we'll see snow in parts of the city.
I have pictures of me making snowmen during the 1985 snow.
BAS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want to make a snowman.
i should go dig up the plans for the snowball war on the southeast side of san antonio.
I am so ing there if you do.
The latest run of the NAM brings snow in later today as early as noon. Its just the latest model run, but take it for what its worth.
Is it a load of snow where it will gather on the ground or will it melt as soon as it hits the ground?
I doubt anything will melt that hits the ground, but it says about .25-.50 inches of rain, which would translate into 2-5 inches of snow.
2-5"!
This city will need the National Guard once tomorrow's over.
Jess and I just went out to our corner store and the ice coverage isn't that impressive here. All of the trees and plants have it, as well as the signs and what not, but anything attatched to a heated building is still fine as are the roads.
However, the roads looked like they might be starting to ice over themselves.
I gotta go outside and fix a hole in the fence right now.![]()
I'll give the updated weather report when I get back in. If I'm not back by 4:45, call 911.
Thanks.
Its snowing here
Where is here?
nevermind.
its just rain mixed with the smoke from the fire.
put it out.
I was relying on the rain to put it out.
When JBL is done fixing your hole, tell him to start on the fire.
.discussion...
Thickness Values At Their Lowest Today And Tonight, Reaching 546
Over The Northern Most Counties. Since 540 Thickness Does Not
Enter Our Area, Removed Mention Of Snow But Left Sleet. Upper
Heights Rise Thursday And Friday While The Massive Surface High
Shifts East. A Dry Wedge In The Mid And Upper Levels Will Move
Into The Area Thursday And Friday. But Another Digging Trough In
The Northern Stream Flow Will Increase Southerly Overrunning Winds
With Drizzle And Light Rain Hanging Over The Area. The Atmosphere
Remains Unstable Aloft With A Chance Of Rain Continuing. We May
See Some Drying By Tuesday Next Week When The Upper Troughs Phase
And Slide Across Texas.
In The Meantime, Temps Remain Well Below Normal Through Saturday, With
Freezing Rain Ending By Wednesday Noon. A Slow Warming Trend Will
Raise Max Temps To The 50s And 60s Over The Weekend.
Thats a pretty worthless discussion. The forcaster doesn't believe the cold air will be high enough in the atmosphere to cause snow, but thats basically all he says.
Anyhow, precip seems to be moving back into town right now, so it'll start getting even nastier soon.
Wasn't that bad. No wind, so that helped. Things are frozen out there but the ice on our car looks like it's melting.
Is it still supposed to be < 32 degrees?
Its below 32. Did it rain at all while you were out there? The radar is picking up rain moving back into your area. But the 2 weather stations closest to you are still well under freezing at 28 and 29 so I doubt it is melting at your place.
Not raining yet.
