You forget that was by design. The Spurs game plan was to let Amare get his points but stay home on the shooters. Remember that Marion and Richardson were M.I.A. in that series.

I knew that was by design. Just giving him smack back.

I find that funny when someone calls a 6'5 210lb professional athlete a pussy over the internet.
Me too. Kind of like when a 7' guy whines about guys shorter than him through the media and not to their face.

This changes my opinion of Amare. I thought he was a tough guy but he might be Dirk soft.

Fans from other teams call Manu dirty all the time. Because he flops so much and he pulls on people.

Spurs fans need to stop living in the past. Lakers fans use the same argument. Weak.

Its like me saying how are you guys enjoying the MLB season? oh wait you don't have a team. how bout the upcoming NFL season? oh wait you don't even have a team. NHL playoffs are in high gear, oh wait you don't even have a team. Stupid and pointless.

We OBVIOUSLY have NO RINGS and are trying to change that. Will we? I don't know but I hope so, so it shuts up people like you. All I know is you asked what our excuses were in 2005 and 2006 and I pointed out that you guys took us out in 2005 in the WCF and you guys didn't even make it there in 2006 and you come back with the "how many rings" thing again. WEAK.
At least the Spurs have a past to talk about. Spurs fans as well as Bulls fans, Laker fans, Detroit fans, Houston fans, Miami Fans and all the other previous champions have earned bragging rights. Thats why there are bumper stickers with the words NBA Champions insert year and team, Thats why banners get hoisted in the air, should those be taken down also because the franchise is living in the past? Thats so stupid. Your team has not earned it and neither have you. Stop being a whiny bitter . Way to go

I wear their complaints as a badge of honor.

It seems like it wasn't all that long ago that we had to deal with that annoying label of a 'soft team.'

Now, we're practically the Detroit Pistons of the late 80's.

    I can live with it.

Would it be funny if someone did it to Manu or Tony and knocked them out for the year?
They already did! The thing is, we don't have 4 threads talking about the same thing.

On the one hand this is great because it means that 1) the Spurs are in their heads, 2) that Phoenix doesn't think it can win in SA without help, and 3) the Spurs are going to be raging pissed for game 3 but on the other hand it sucks because now the refs will probably call it tight on us while letting that pussy Raja Bell get away with murder at the other end.

    Without a doubt.

But that's the fans, I can't see Duncan saying the to the press that Amare did.

He only makes this kind of comment about refs...

I wish the Spurs were serious about filling that hole at the 2-guard spot. You could really use a good one against Phoenix. I have to say, in all fairness, I give a slight edge to Manu over Rolando Blackman, former Mavs great, but then again, Rolando is 47 years old. It's a tossup for sure, but if you put me on the spot, I would grudgingly take Manu over Blackman for tonight's game. Or I might not, again, between the two, it's a close call. Of course, in his prime, Blackman would've destroyed Manu.

    Mavs > Spurs.

Good Job STAT. You're just doing what you're supposed to do and telling it like it is. The Spurs are old, dirty and boring. The Suns are young, clean and exciting. Not as good as the Mavs, nobody can touch Dallas, except for the Warriors + 3 blind, bribed mice, but good job Amare. Tim Duncan is an overrated fluke and his nickname should be STAB -- Standing Tall and Boring.

The Dallas Mavericks. The best team. The best fans:

Can anyone answer these two trivia questions about Spurs playoff series in the last 5 (or so) years:

    1. Can anyone remember a series when the opposing team (players, coaches, front office personnel, owner) did not complain about either (a) the Spurs' dirty play or (b) officiating favoring the Spurs?

    2. Can anyone remember a series when the Spurs (players, coaches, front office personnel, owner) did complain about either (a) the opposing team's dirty play or (b) officiating favoring the opposing team?

In order to qualify, the complaint must be made after or between games, to the press and/or at news conferences. In other words, complaining during the game about, e.g., officiating, doesn't count. (The Spurs as much, or more, than most during the games.)

I know I'm a homer and I see the world through "Spurs-colored glasses," but I honestly can't think of any examples of the above.

    Happy hunting.

I hope this just motivates the Spurs for Saturday. Amare just can't learn to keep his mouth shut, it's his biggest problem.
