Damn, what a waste.
Marcus Williams???
6'7" 205 lbs. SF
PPG FG% RPG APG FT%
16.6 49.4 6.7 2.2 69.5
BIOGRAPHY: Williams is entering the draft after a strong sop re season at Arizona, ending any chance of returning to college after hiring an agent. Averaged 16.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game this past season, but struggled in two postseason contests. He failed to show much leadership as Arizona was eliminated after one game in both the Pac-10 and NCAA tournament. He was held to a combined 24 points and four rebounds in those losses, and also struggled defensively.
A shaky performance against Purdue in the NCAA tournament might have damaged his draft status. He had just 11 points and one rebound, and defensive miscues gave the Boilermakers open shots. His streaky play might worry some NBA teams, but his ability to play shooting guard or small forward would certainly be a plus for a club looking to add versatility. Williams' negative at ude has been a problem, and he often settles for jump shots instead of driving the lane. Shot 47.5 percent from the field and 35.6 from 3-point range in his career at Arizona. Had a strong freshman season, averaging 13.0 points per game. Scored 24 points in an NCAA tournament loss to No. 3 Villanova that season, when his stock was probably higher than it is now.

is this the right choice to replace Bruce in the future?![]()
Damn, what a waste.
I didn't say since they mad a lot of moves Portland was going to be good. I actually like what they have done, buying 2 late first rounders. Fernandez & Kopponen are nice prospects. They got rid of Randolph. Portland is putting together a nice team.
theres still the possibility of a trade
if a guy who struggles defensively is Bowen's successor, i hope Bowen plays till he's 50..
Anybody else get the feeling that the Lakers are intentionally trying to piss Kobe off with these picks?
What # is our final pick?
Many of the scouting reports I've seen on this dude say he has big upside potential. Who better to teach him defense, work ethic, and a professional at ude than the Spurs?
Ah, thanks!
And why the is Beno still on this team, again?
i would have been very happy with splitter and koponen.
And i thought james white was supposed to be bowen's replacement....williams???
Spurs follow the same pattern- draft a big guy whom you leave in Europe and draft a bad college player who does not pan out.
damn dallas got fazekas....
portland gets abig that can dish to oden...
and boston get big baby..
Koponen has bust written all over him, I didn't like him at all. I think Portland made a bad move there, but overall they have some good prospects to turn to and a great one in Oden. Let's see if Oden ever get's an offensive game to match his defensive one, which is questionable.
Doesn't Portland have Sergio Rodriguez and Jarrett Jack under contract? Those are two solid point guards who can play well with Roy. A bit skeptical about the Koponen pick.
That's what I was thinking. Plus they also traded for Fernandez.
During the season, IIRC, there were some trade rumors around Jack. I wonder if they are going to resurrect those.
Lakers got Gasol...
Mitch: Good news Kobe, we got Gasol!
Kobe: YES!! When does Pau arrive?
Mitch: Uhhhhhh...well not exactly Pau...
Kobe: Trade me.
Im not sure that will be enough...but we'll see. Gasol might do well in Phil's system.
/nvm damnit I though you meant Pau.
D'antoni is a big vag. ungroomed vag
