Is the flaming really necessary? I'm not mod but can't we discuss things in a civil manner?
Once upon a time there were two countries founded in a New World, one in the North, and one in the South. Each was settled by Europeans*. Each had a embarassment of natural resources. Each occupied the prime real estate on its respective continents for settlement and cultivation, in the temperate zones. Each, geographically, was among the ten largest countries on earth.
One nation became the wealthiest and most powerful nation in the history of civilization. The other is still a third-world country, with poor people living in shanties made of cardboard and scrap metal while its rich live in facsimiles of Paris.
Why don't you worry for the rest of your life about the pathetic underachievement of your fellow citizens over the past hundred years, before you get on a soapbox about the sins of America and its people, you insignificant gnat.
*Each brutally displaced the native population, too.

N Korea is a poor, isolated country that spouts off all the time but is lacking in resources to do anything at the moment. They run their mouths because they know the US won't just blow them off the face of the earth for humanitarian reasons. , an average fleet of B1, B2, Fa-117, and F22-Raptors could wipe them off the face of the earth in a few hours if necessary.
