What is up with Josh Howard lately? I'm not even talking about his shooting, but the fact that he is completely a no show on the boards as well.

Is he just in a funk or is he trying to do too much?

I think he's butthurt over his boys being in Jersey now, plus he's been dealing with a lingering back contusion. But he's just been demonstrating low, low basketball IQ, even for him, and not really having his head in the game. Makes me wonder if there's stuff going on in his personal life.

It just means he won't be back in 8 weeks, more likely 10 weeks which is what we all thought would happen in the 1st place.

Kobe's just playing the game he's supposed to play. No surprised here. Lebron is the real MVP. Btw Dallas looks tired. The schedule has been too hectic. Stackhouse needs to go to an old mans home. Uhh

Stack's shot isn't falling, but it's not like he's actually wearing a Laker uniform, which you might as well say of Josh.

The thing with the Lakers' depth is the right combination of skillsets in their young players:
Ariza is a good man defender, but a poor jumpshooter
Walton is a good passer, but can't guard a chair
Vujacic is a good shooter, but can't defend without fouling
Fisher is a good scoring guard, but can't defend quicker guards
Farmar is probably the most well-rounded of their bench players

I agree with you on most points. Vujacic is actually a very good defender and does not get those stupid fouls he used to get 50 feet from the basket. Not Bowen good but pretty good.

Laker team defense was top 3 in the league with Bynum and Ariza healthy. With Bynum in the middle, none of these offensive rebounds that teams have been living on with Pau as the Center. Bynum also defends penetration well due to his size and long arms.

Right now Laker have Elite offense and above average defense. Bynum and Ariza should really bolster their defense.

Finley = poor defensive player
Bowen+Udoka = no offense

If they were the players you think they are the Spurs wouldn't struggle to score every night outside of their big 3.

Bruce is a 41% shooter from 3-point land, while Udoka is a respectable 33%. Finley is a weak link in the D, but he's improving

We can certainly hang with the Lakers, but Jackson is a better coach and Kobe is a better assassin. I'd have to give them a slight edge.
