I was just pointing out the fact... .500 vs Cleveland w/ Lebron in the lineup.

I know it was meant to beat Cavs fans to the punch. There was a reason that Arenas said everyone wanted the Cavs. Granted saying it on his blog was not smart but he had a point. Of all the East playoff teams the Cavs were playing .500 or less basketball since the trade. I thought last years Cavs team that was crappy was still better then this team.

I was real impressed with the Cavs ability to stay in the game with LBJ playing like that, I can say with greater confidence now that Cavs have what it takes to beat the Celtics.

It's funny to see people (Armando) still try to argue that Boston is some great team- all they showed tonight is that they can beat the Cavs' reserves by 4...which ironically they already showed in late November. The Cavs just have to steal one game-which they will. Remember they were down 0-2 last year to Detroit

I am not saying it will be easy for Boston. You have to admit the Cavs let a winnable game get away. You basically had Garnett do all scoring and Pierce and Allen score just 4 points. Come on how can Cleveland not win this game?

That may very well be the worst game I've ever seen LeBron play, and I've seen most of them. No sugar-coating, he was horrible. He'll be better on Thursday. Problem is, Boston didn't play well either.

We might have blown our chance to steal one in Boston tonight. .

Is my opinion. I know Gooden was a bonehead by he had nights where he gave you offense. The Celtics are not sweating the offensive juggernaught that is Ben Wallace. I still can't believe the Bulls were able to trade his contract. Ben is not the same player he was in Detroit. He was exposed in Chicago where his one dimensional game was glaring. But thats why you play the games.

That was probably the best game I've ever seen Garnett play.

But I don't think they win without Cassell tonite. What a pickup for them.

    1. Gooden gave away as many points as he scored by not rotating and generally being asleep at the wheel defensively, all the time. And you never knew what you were going to get out of him offensively. He'd give you 25-15 one night, and 4-2 the next.

    2. I actually thought Ben did fairly well keeping KG away from the basket tonight. He made the shots, props to him.

    3. Chicago got rid of Ben's contract by taking on Larry Hughes's. Toss-up as to which is worse.

I agree. I don't want to see KG get a le for running away from the west to take advantage of a softer east to increase his odds of getting to the finals.

You're a ing moron for saying that. KG would have been here till he's 80 if they would have let him. He should have pussed out llike kobe and so many others and demanded a trade years ago.

Get a clue what you're talking about.

    Naah

Pistons like to choke the ECF since Flip took over.
That's not fair. The Pistons knew how to choke in 2005 under Larry Brown too. It just didn't seem so bad because it was the Finals and not the ECF and it was against a great team in the Spurs.

Couldn't catch the game, but the boxscore did not disappoint for entertainment value.

    Lebron nearly gets a quadruple double, 12/9/9 - 10 TO's

    Pierce 4/5/4 - 6 TO's

    Wow.

Allen & Pierce were 2-18, same as Lebron. The really weird thing about that stat is Allen didn't even score in 37 mpt, and actually only took 4 shots, unbelievable. Pierce doesn't get to the line in 29 mpt? Looks like Cleveland was zoning it all night.

This is going to be a great series.

I just want to watch a complete series all the way thru, every game. Here's how it feels to want: It sucks.

Gonna read some of the thread to see the effect of the game on NBA fans for possible adreneline effect.

And both teams exit the court in utter shame.....
Lakers55 says it all, it seems.

I like the Celts in this series. Both teams will be back. Lebron isn't going to lay down and die over some missed layups, book it.

    Ouch, babe.

Something becomes very obvious when you watch good defensive teams play against Ben Wallace's teams in the later rounds of the NBA Playoffs: they do not guard him. I'm not saying he is guarded loosely...I'm not saying he is guarded by the other team's worst guy...he is just NOT guarded. Left alone. It's almost painful to watch him try and hide himself on the offensive end, trying not to get in the way of a penetrating LeBron or rolling Ilgauskas. Anyone who has ever played basketball at any level knows that if you have someone on your squad who is incapable of anything on O, you are gonna have a tough time scoring as a team. It's like the other team is on a constant power-play on the defensive end. Not to mention, the guy the Celtics cut loose to roam the floor trapping and getting in passing lanes...none other than the NBA Defensive Player of the Year, Kevin Garnett. I have always believed that a large reason the Pistons were throttled by the Heat in the '06 Conference Finals was this same Ben Wallace factor. The Pistons got no good looks that whole series, and a lot of it had to do with being unable to get to the hoop because Shaq was camped in the paint, paying zero attention to Big Ben.

They might but it won't matter. This is as bad as the Celtics have played at home in the playoffs. The Caveliers still could not beat them. Your are delusional if you think Allen and Pierce will play like this in Game 2. And have 23 turnovers to boot.
You're comparing the way the Celts play at home with 2 very different teams. Cavs play some good defense as they will take the ball away from you if you're not careful and Pierce isn't confident to go up against LeBron, on both ends.

Cavs got to the line a lot, which is what I want to see. Attack the rim, Celtics can't guard slashers, they just foul them.

right but a team that depends mostly on one player almost won a game on the road when that one player hardly even showed up on the offensive side of the ball
