It's just part of the political realignment we are going through. It's interesting to watch it play out. Libs on here who used to cry for the plight of the working man now make fun of the working man even though they are the working man, it's weird.
I think it's good that the entire Republican strategy continues to be to appeal to the rural communities that make up 20% of the population and falling, and I definitely think you should continue to insist that people in small towns are the only people who really work.

Democrats should be scared,,,this will be a ripple effect. The cities are becoming crime infested cesspools. People will want to move into the rural communities and their political allegiance will change. Trump even got the most black votes of any republican president before him. More Hispanics came out to support him as well. Bury your head in the sand at your own peril and continue to ignore outskirt communities. wut? Nobody wants to move backwards in life. Heck, if there's anything going on is smaller towns/cities becoming larger cities and hubs (see: Austin, TX). People follow the big paying jobs, that's simply in bigger cities (the pandemic has shifted some of this though, we'll see if it's just temporary).
Trump won a lot of cities as well (you can't win Florida without the city votes). Here in SoCal, you wouldn't confuse OC with a rural town. Same with San Diego, for example. There always have been a minority of conservative bastions everywhere.
He just followed the trend, that even with record turnout voting for him, and clearly being one of the most popular GOP candidates in decades, still couldn't win the popular vote. Twice.
That doesn't mean the GOP can't win elections though. We have a system where the popular vote is of fairly low value, and unfortunately we had a number of unpopular presidents (including Trump) that still governed despite not getting the most votes.

The rural communities will expand and people will commute in the city for the jobs. People will vote conservative when the move out of the city which is happening at a record pace.
